Title: No Fuel
Post by greggerypeccary on Jun 1st, 2024 at 4:47pm

Not a good start to the long weekend (WA Day - June 3rd).

Perth Airport ran out of fuel, and dozens of domestic and international flights were cancelled as a result.

Ouch!   :-/

About time we got us some electric planes.

Yes, I heard it in the news over here on the better side😚

My first thought was a simple mechanical breakdown.
My second was is Perth airport privatised?
If so mostly like saving $ on prevention maintenance to lose millions because they are so tight?

I’m any case I hope it’s fixed soon.

Could imagine nothing worse than being stuck In Perth of all places 😞

Perth to Rottnest Island, maybe.

But I don't think they can fly for more than an hour.

Probably can't carry more than one passenger either.

Oh well, back to the drawing board   ::)

The lack of fuel is reportedly due to an air bubble in the supply line. Seems logical as air is compressible.

That must be why the WA Day event was cancelled.
