Gina Rinehart demands portrait first exhibited in Adelaide be removed from National Gallery

Vincent Namatjira's portrait of mining billionaire, Gina Rinehart was on display from October 2023 until January 2024 at the Art Gallery of South Australia as part of the Tarnanthi Festival .

The portrait is currently showing at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, and Reinhart is demanding it be removed.

Assistant Director of Artistic Programs at AGSA, Lisa Slade, told Sonya & Jules, "The exhibition started in Adelaide...the controversy starts here".

I wish she'd remove herself from public viewing

I was there last week. The whole National Gallery of Art is very poor
I totally agree with Gina, Vincent Namatjira's art is cartoonish at best.

The problem with the portrait is that it's not fat enough to be Gina
