I live in the country and was expecting a good viewing, however clouds and rain put a stop to that. The second night there was bit of a break and I thought I saw a faint reddish glow, but that may have been wishful thinking.

Same here, thick dark grey clouds blocked the view.
I am in a rural area too now. Has its advantages but distances are a slight problem. |
