No... no they won't. You can always tell when elections are due, can't you? There's also a WA State election next year and Premier Roger Cook is already pulling out all the stops to buy votes. https://www.education.wa.edu.au/wasap/ Not means tested, of course. And there's rumours we're also going to get another pre WA State election credit on our power bills (also not means tested). Not as much as the $1000 pre State election power bill vote buying exercise in Queensland where 'Giggles' Miles is facing a wipeout at the polls but I'm sure even a few hundred dollars will be guaranteed to buy Roger a few more votes from a gullible population. |

Well done by Dutton.
Sarah Ferguson never let Dutton get in a word in during the interview afterwards. The ABC is so biased and just damn rude towards the Liberal party. |

Did you all see that video above?
I don't know how Dutton put up with Sarah Ferguson? She must be the rudest interviewer in Australia - Dutton was unable to finish hardly a sentence without her interrupting yet he was on topic and to the point. If I were Dutton I would have told her what I thought of her and walked out. He has extreme patience and finished the interview with a smile as though it was all OK. ::) |

What the hell is the point of getting a person on your TV show -
asking them a question and then talking over their answer so no one can hear what they are saying? Sarah Ferguson needs to be sacked. |

Never seen a budget reply that wasn't a waste of time from either side and worse in election years. They are a pretend wish list almost always unfunded and filled with commitments they they either can't or won't deliver. They are often overflowing with lies about the budget much of which they would have done themselves if in power.
If you have nothing better to do they can be a good laugh. The budget itself is barely worth watching, the highlights version is mostly more than enough to cope with. |

Title: Re: Budget REPLY tonight ABC 20. Post by Bobby. on May 16th, 2024 at 11:19pm
Dutton said:
Here’s some facts which show the troubling state of our economy: More than 16,000 businesses around the country have gone insolvent since the 1st of July 2022. Productivity has plunged by 5.4 per cent on this Government’s watch. Household buying power has gone down by 7.5 per cent. Last year, Australians suffered the biggest increase in average tax rates of any citizens in the developed world. There’s been double-digit increases for your essentials like electricity, gas, milk, bread and rent. Tragically, so many more Australians are living in cars and tents. And because of spending in this Budget, the economic outlook is one of deficits as far as the eye can see. |
