Reports today bonza ahas cancelled all flights.

I wonder if they are now  automatically given 20 million dollars or is that only given to profitable airlines like Qantas under Lnp government?

Australia's new budget airline Bonza has suddenly cancelled all of its flights amid talks about the future viability of the company.

The sudden cancellation of flights has potentially left thousands of passengers stranded at airports across the country.

Chief executive Tim Jordan said all flights have been 'temporarily suspended' and the airline may not be able to continue just 15 months after it launched.

'Discussions are currently underway regarding the ongoing viability of the business,' Mr Jordan said on Tuesday.

'We apologise to our customers who are impacted by this and we're working as quickly as possible to determine a way forward that ensures there is ongoing competition in the Australian domestic aviation market.'

Staff were reportedly called into a meeting early this morning.

A Sunshine Coast man, whose wife works for the airline, told the ABC: 'She went to work this morning, as per usual, they just went in — there were two crews there — they were just basically told that Bonza has finished.'

Bonza had a difficult  start , shut down by federal authorities the day they opened over a paperwork issue with leased Canadian jets.

It was around the same time Alan Joyce and Albo were still best friends.

Many in the industry suggested it was a organised ploy to stop competition entering the Australian market ?

It will be interesting to see Albo response, will he support them as he has Qantas or just look away?

No wonder I've never heard of them - they don't fly to Perth.

Now they don't fly anywhere.

Just heard on ABC radio -
they were flying into small towns and small cities that the major airlines avoided
due to low profitability and guess what? -
they were not profitable  ::)     -

they lost too much money.

Airlines fly to Perth?  Dr Livingstone, I presume?  Politicians there have to take VIP flights just to get to the Gaga Strip without touching the flesh of the fleshpots of Sydney along the way.... life is tough for that kind... you'd think a nice stay in a fine hotel on a layover to Gaga Strip and a nice meal at Choi's or something would be just the ticket... but not our lot!  They like to do it TOUGH over there in WA... direct flight via RAAF jet and dump me in a fine Comm Car .... it's in the water, I tellz yez ....

These short hop special jazz planes keep starting up. Struggle. crash. If only Australia had more immigration and bigger passenger supply..
