It could only be a slogan in a country without bears.

Bears kill their own cubs.

Before hibernation and after, bears will kill and eat anything that moves, including other bears.

It was the short-faced bear that restricted the mass migration of humans into North America at the end of the last ice age.

If my wife asked me that and I did have a daughter the answer would have been an immediate "a man, me". Probably the same answer if she asked about one of my sons.

Try scaling the image down a little, 250W x 400H should be about right for that image.

Bears don;t hibernate. They go into torpor.

I've read and tried to understand the argument here but every time it sounds like some high school girls claiming a win for something smelling like red herring.

Your wife doesn't get to pick what man.

Thanks for the tip.

Righto, then...

When bears eat their prey, they usually don't bother to kill it first. They eat it live.

By your own compulsive regurgitation of "facts about bears", you disclose that bears are not always dangerous.

See how when you think about something other than simply react, as you two are doing, you can actually get someway towards understanding other people's motives for their decisions?

Or you could just imagine a woman being eaten from the "c~nt up" again. That seems to give you a little thrill. And about your pay-grade.

Bears tend not to be too polite when they're ripping people apart.

Is there a better way to highlight the difference between humans and bears other than graphically?

Women who think they'd rather take their chances with bears should watch 'Grizzly Man'. Apparently, his girlfriend tried to escape the bears by climbing a tree. A bear climbed the tree and dismembered her on the way down.

You sound like an example of why many women would pick the bear.

As opposed to being eaten alive from the c~nt up?

By your own compulsive regurgitation of "facts about bears", you disclose that bears are not always dangerous.

See how when you think about something other than simply react, as you two are doing, you can actually get someway towards understanding other people's motives for their decisions?

Or you could just imagine a woman being eaten from the "c~nt up" again. That seems to give you a little thrill. And about your pay-grade.

Bears are intelligent and territorial. They're at their most dangerous in late Autumn and early Spring, but they'd kill humans anytime they're hungry enough.

It's only urban blue-hairs women and ham-twatted late-tenners who'd choose to hang out with bears than human males.

Let's see them refuse help from a human male if they were chased by bears.

Most men would choose a Bear over a Woman.
You can eat a bear, skin it for warm fur, use its teeth and claws. A woman? Well what use is that out there in the woods? ::) Bear would eat a woman like it eats Beaver.

No, it didn't.

A similar point could be made about men preferring a dog over a woman if the man is referring to a woman's capacity for reputation destruction.

The point would have been better made if the woman referred to preferring, say, cats over men.

Using the bear analogy is a blue-hairs, ham twot thing.

This is not about a particular man or a particular bear - it's about men and bears in general, and what they are capable of as a species.

I asked you a very simple question: Is that the worst a bear is capable of - mauling and/or killing?

The answer is 'yes'.

A bear will not rape or torture. They won't tie a woman up and devise evil ways to make her suffer.

Now ask yourself: is a man capable of raping and/or torturing a woman?

Could a woman scare away a bear?  Could they scare away a man?

Has the penny dropped yet?

The very worst a bear can do to a woman is maul and kill her.

A man, on the other hand, can do that and much more.

I perfectly understand why women are choosing the bear.

Actually it's a really simple answer to all but the average WOKE Imbecile current society lets parade around masquerading as someone of knowledge. Of the 3 possibilities available (Man, Woman, Bear); the most likely chance of your child surviving in the woods, finding their way, being protected from evident possible bear attacks and making it back home safely, is that child being cared for and protected by a man.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    " DID you know children are more likely to be harmed by their biological mother than father? Neither did I until very recently. But why am I surprised — and why will you be shocked? Because we don’t talk about it.
No one wants to talk about it. Society is totally in denial that women aren’t always victims.

We have all been conditioned to believe the majority of people who commit abuse are men — but it’s not true.

There are good women and bad women. Children are far more likely to suffer neglect or abuse at the hands of their mothers.

It’s so important that we all put aside our preconceptions and look at the facts, even though they’re uncomfortable.

Statistics show a different story from the one we are accustomed to

Data from Child Protective Services in the US, mirrors the pattern around the world. Of children who become victims of maltreatment, the huge majority of perpetrators of the crimes are the biological parents (not adopted or foster parents, as you might think).

The Child Family Community Australia reports, “A British retrospective prevalence study of 2669 young adults aged 18-24 (May-Chahal & Cawson, 2005) found that mothers were more likely than fathers to be responsible for physical abuse 49 per cent of incidents compared to 40 per cent).”

Other sites that are trying to raise awareness in this area will bombard you with statistics. Breaking the silence, for instance, says 71 per cent of children killed by one parent are killed by their mothers, 60 per cent of those victims are boys.

Talking child abuse statistics
A report by Australian Institute of Family Studies released in October 2016 found, “boys were more likely to be the subjects of a substantiation of physical abuse, neglect or emotional abuse than girls.”

DHHS data in the UK shows that of children abused by one parent between 2001 and 2006, 70.6 per cent were abused by their mothers, 29.4 per cent were abused by their fathers.

You don’t have to drown in statistics to see reality. You only have to read news headlines that, sadly, are all around us.

The truth about violence is that it has more connection to morality than gender. And, not all women are natural caretakers."

We'll limit it to the last decade as I don't want to force you to sell your house to pay up.

Not many women are eaten by bears because almost no women living in bear country is stupid enough to buy into the blue-hairs bullshit that they'd be safer with a bear than a man.

Their chances of dying from a bear attack would quickly rise to 100% were they blue-hairs enough to trust a bear.

And, of course, you wouldn't hurt a woman and neither would your friends... And yet...

Backtrack? The question (not mine) said "bear".

The post then went on to say when asked regarding his teenage daughter, a man went on to question "what kind of man .."what kind of bear" ....  but when the man was replaced with "woman", the questions immediately stopped and a prompt answer was given. "Woman".

Having a little overreact too are you Goose?

Remember the OP is apparently not the brightest spark, even when trying to appear otherwise. The OP is a Misandrist construct and everyone of genuine intelligence knows that. Pretending it is something else to back-track away from that truth and hide that misandrist reality, whilst actually having an IQ too low to fully process the failure to succeed in that aim is an interesting byproduct to observe.

Not all grizzlies are necessarily dangerous every single time you encounter one when, say, they're well-fed and tired.

But would you sleep next to one? Grizzly man and his girlfriend did... They pulled out their body parts from the bears the rangers had to shoot to protect other humans... even female humans.

A similar point could be made about men preferring a dog over a woman if the man is referring to a woman's capacity for reputation destruction.

The point would have been better made if the woman referred to preferring, say, cats over men.

Using the bear analogy is a blue-hairs, ham twot thing.

Sure you missed the point.  That you think a cat would have been a better analogy shows you have no idea what the point was. Let me know if you need to have it explained to you

I'm, guessing you're a wife-basher to see the analogy as valid.

The vast majority of men are not violent towards women. All wild bears will eventually attack/kill you.

Is that the worst a bear is capable of - mauling and/or killing?

Have you got it in you to maul or kill a woman?

How many men do you know rape and torture women?

You're missing the point.  Sooooooooooooo missing the point.

It's about the capabilities of the human male as a species versus the capabilities of a bear as a species.

No, the authors chose bears in comparison to men as a ridiculous hyperbole. Of course they knew bear encounters are dangerous, that's why they used it.

They could have used crocs or sharks but, in Australia, the hyperbole wouldn't have worked.

Really, give it a go - I was pleasantly surprised.

It only gets 5.9/10 on IMDB, which I think is a bit unfair.

I've seen it offered but wrote it off as ridiculous.

So bad it's good or just surprisingly better than one would expect?

Strangely enough, a bit of both   :-/

It's a good bit of fun, and it has a great cast including Ray Liotta, Margo Martindale, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Ok, i'll check i'll check it out with the fam tonight. Let you know what we reckon.

Let's see if there's a shark/croc hyperbole used in Australia.

"I'd rather swim in shark-infested waters"

"I'd rather camp near croc-infested waterholes"

I'm guessing there won't be.

Because nobody has suggested the woods are "infested" with bears.

Aren't you sick of being wrong? I mean honestly, i'm left gobsmacked at how a person could be so wrong.

It's most certainly not about a specific bear, quite the contrary. I never said anything even approximating that. What is wrong with you? It was you raving about specific bears, eating uppity women from the c~nt up.

It's a bear or a man. Pick one.

The OP goes on to say that the husband of the woman addressing the question to him in regards to who he would prefer his teenage daughter to be left along in the woods withimmediately responded with "which sort of man?" ... ""which sort of bear?".

And yet when he was asked about a woman or a bear, he immediately said "woman".

Now, for the casual observer, this tells us something. For you however, well you rant pointlessly about blue hair and women needing to be rescued by a man from being eaten from the c~nt up by a starving grizzly.

Can you see yet where you went wrong?

No?  Didn't think so.

But just in case i needed to point it out again ... also from the OP:

Aside from the killer nature of the bear, is its universal status in human cultures as a symbol of strength, courage, resilience, persistence and intelligence.

Given that blue-hairs and ham-twots tend to prefer the company of effeminate men, it’s less of a wonder what they’re really saying by their preference for bears over ‘men’.
