I suppose I do remember Gillard saying "poypul" during an interview. I think Dutton is also guilty of doing that, too.

I know I am guilty of saying "foind" instead of "find" sometimes.

An email pal of mine from America said that she thought "sticky beak" was the most hilarious Australian term she had ever heard. I scratched my head thinking about the innocuousness of the word.

An American came in to my restaurant, some years ago and asked if there was wifi here. I told her that there is at Maccas. She was confused and said "Whuh? What?". I thought calling McDonalds "Maccas" was worldwide.

Took a while to understand what an Australian "Crow Eater" was.

I had to look up what that was, even though my guess was right. The term's origin is quite literal, with the settlers having eaten crows, when other food sources were scarce.
