I don't think this is a 'deep dive' submersible.
But for 'recreational' purposes - it looks pretty neat. The Triton (very original ::)) https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/other/incredible-new-submarine-looks-like-ufo/vi-AA1nDUhF?ocid=msedgntp&pc=ACTS&cvid=be132113d1e0431da6c402d5ffc0dcd7&ei=13 |

There's no way I'd get into that contraption and dive 200 meters deep. :)

200 metres is ok. You could still have your body in one piece if it implodes. Record for scuba dive is 300m plus.

If it implodes you wouldn't survive at 200 meters - probably not even at 50 meters. You have to exit the vehicle first as it floods. |

If it implodes suddenly the biggest problem would be all the bits of plastic and steel coming at you. Plus your eardrums would burst, which would be a bit disorienting. If it is strong enough to dive to 200m you would probably not be able to get out unless it fell apart, or it was just a slow leak that left the door functional.

Title: Re: Latest Recreational Submersible Post by Yadda on Apr 26th, 2024 at 7:48am With some new Submersible gadget like this....... I'd want to know what its repeatable, multiple failure, depth specification was. i.e. Are the makers of this contraption, prepared to do repeatable 'destructive testing', on at least 4 or five builds, of exactly the the same model [for consistency of their testing] ? And would they be prepared publish, at what depth the device would 'tend' to fail ? Even then......myself, i would be inclined let others 'play' with it. :) |
