Title: It continues .....
Post by Gnads on Mar 28th, 2024 at 2:04pm
Our Youth Justice systems... across the nation continue to fail to adequately deal with and deter juvenile crime.

Last year I believe, a group of girls(3) on the Sunshine Coast lured another girl to a home where they set upon her and held her there for hours torturing her.

One of the group a 14 yr old has committed 37 offences whilst on bail awaiting a court date for sentencing.

Here's the rub .... she gets sentenced to 2 yrs detention which is immediately suspended and she's put on 3 years probation.

What the hell will that do address her criminality?

Answer =  nothing.

She continued to commit offences whilst on bail...

she should have been sentenced to serve detention for the torture case,

let alone the 37 more offences committed whilst on bail.

No consequences for actions & the crime continues.

Quote:
FIRST GIRL SENTENCED OVER TEEN TORTURE

It has been revealed in court that a teenage girl who was part of a trio who tortured another teen for hours at a Sunshine Coast home committed dozens of offences while on bail for the crime.

During a sentencing hearing for the 14-year-old girl, a court heard she had allegedly committed 37 offences while on bail for charges relating to the torture.

The girl was sentenced to two years’ detention suspended and three years’ probation.

Pay walled....

"two years’ detention suspended and three years’ probation."

That means no jail -

in a perfect world she would have been hanged in public.

nah, I was commenting on the possible reason for the court not jailing her, at 14. it's here, if you are at all interested.

The two other girls involved have already plead guilty and they too have been given slaps on the wrists(no detention) and "no convictions" recorded.

Weak as piss.

This 3rd one has had her sentencing delayed whilst her extra charges relating to the offences she committed whilst on bail are looked at.

It's fairly obvious to me that she and her friends have had ample opportunity/chances to pull their heads in but continued to offend..... why is that do you think?

They continue to offend because they know they will get a slap on the wrist.

That is what also has to stop .... there comes a time when serious consequences need to be applied by the courts and I believe these girls have gone well over the line for that to happen.

No more excuses about having a tough childhood(they're still kids anyway).... it's trotted out as an excuse in nearly every case.

It's time to build another big youth detention centre and for the courts to start sending these young serial/recidivist offenders to jail.

Being tough makes men out of them. A good flogging always works wonders on abused children. Sharp pieces of lead in the whip, 50 lashes a day, rub in the salt.

The girls responsible should get jail time, they were over age 10 ... "The minimum age of criminal responsibility in Queensland is currently 10 years old."

This is what they did ... and it looks like they'll be free to go home

Crown prosecutor Rebecca Marks detailed an "extremely traumatic" four hours on March 11, 2023, in which the 13-year-old victim was subjected to "revolting" taunts, spat on, punched, cut with a knife, and made to lick the girls' feet among other "degrading" acts.

the co-offenders lured the girl to the house under false pretences before locking the doors and taking away her mobile phone and shoes.

The second eldest offender took "before pictures" and the trio proceeded to inflict injuries all over the victim's body, leaving her bruised, swollen and bleeding.

They broke a bone in her wrist and beat her so that she was temporarily unable to see, stand or hear

they walked the victim home while she was wearing only a bra and shorts.

At the victim's home, they stole a hair straightener and perfume and told the victim they would kill her family if she "snitched".

Moscow attack suspects appear severely beaten as they're charged in Russian court. They had tough childhoods and Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda has only one ear now. In an interview, he expressed gratitude to the Russian authorities and begged not to be sent to an Australian prison.
