Title: Beware the Ides of March Post by Vic on Mar 15th, 2024 at 8:40am
I wonder how many of today’s generations understand the history behind this day? At school in the early sixties, Julius Caesar was a much studied person - along with why we have hanging buttresses on church buildings, Westminster system of Government and other meaningful subjects.

"The Ides of March are come!!"
"Aye, Caesar .... but not gone...." I did a HSC english exam in the 1980's I think it was.... here I was armed to the teeth with Shakespeare and such - and they asked for a rendering of the social import of rock concerts... like WTF??? No wonder the kids these days have empty heads waiting to be filled with any passing bulldust.... Study of Shakespeare showed history of English usage etc.... where the lingo came from etc.... |

That's according to Shakespeare. He more likely said, in Greek, 'Kai su, teknon'.("**** you, kid") to Brutus. |
