No, not really.

Maybe not all parts of the country are affected the same way.

The only insects that would approach Yadda are blowflies.

Cicadas are a good example in 'Cities' at least.
All but gone from Sydney and that's taking into consideration the research acceptance of their 16 year cycles.

As a kid I'd see dozens of these case moths  (Metura elongatus) on fences and tree
trunks all around peoples' gardens.

yes, it is pretty localised.
But more people means more houses and roads, less trees and scrub so less area for wildlife.

We have many insects in out backyard as we put a forest in there.

Correction: It's not just blowflies that are attracted to Yadda.

Hardly a day goes by without 30 or so cockatoos repeatedly flying overhead, followed by 40 or so (not so noisy) corellas doing the same thing.

On hot days we have birds from the size of noisy miners up to sulphur crested cockatoos liningup to take a dip in the fountain in our front yard.
