All of those things but it is also cheap and consequently has a low profit margin for builders and Government so don’t expect to see a boom in Aircrete building. |

Having been involved in good old Nebraska born, Straw Bale constructions.
I would have to say that B_light's alternative here is 'insulation' rating CRAPOLA. ;D |

Straw bales, now you’re talking. Very quick to construct, insulation par exccellance, cheap but needing 100% sealing as very expensive to replace if serious deterioration occurs. Have built in mud brick, pise and rammed earth as well as wattje and daub. Know of a couple of wattle and daub that are now 160 years old and still lived in [actually they’re split gum and daub]. Plastic milk crates filled with earth also make a sturdy and cheap house, even if illegal. |
