Title: Your connection is not private Post by freediver on Jan 4th, 2024 at 10:22am
If you are getting a "Your connection is not private" warning, it is because the site's SSL certificate is missing again. Not sure why. I'll give it half an hour then contact hostgator about it.
You should be right to ignore it, as you should not have personal, financial etc information on here, and most of what you send to this site goes public anyway. |

Update: the person I chatted with at hostgator did not have permission to fix the problem. They pushed it up the chain and the admin will get back to me via email. I am not optimistic as I am still waiting for them to get back to me on another issue I raised on December 10. However, PA had a similar issue with SSL certificates recently which seemed to resolve itself. I forget how long that took.

I know you seen this but the error is saying that the certificate expired today.
Annoying but a good excuse to work on my nrl supercoach team planning. |

It is the SSL certificate for cPanel.
The connection is secure, but the certificate has expired, which is what Chrome and Edge are picking up. Unsure why the hosting company doesn't see it as a priority as it is a pretty big issue. |

This server could not prove that it is www.ozpolitic.com; its security certificate expired 2 days ago. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection. Your computer's clock is currently set to Friday, January 5, 2024. Does that look right? If not, you should correct your system's clock and then refresh this page.
---------------------------------------------------------- I guess I will stay out for a few days then--as I dont know how to fix this- hopefully hostgator will sort it very soon. |

Hostgator have been a bit slack lately, and have not gotten back to me about this issue yet. I need to renew the hosting at the end of January, so will be shopping around.

I contacted hostgator again. They are still working on it.
Here is a trick you ca use with google chrome: https://superuser.com/questions/1786439/how-to-force-a-connection-to-a-site-through-chrome-or-any-other-browsers-you Unfortunately it does not seem to persist. |

Looks like both issues are sorted now. Still no communication from hostgator.
Apologies for the inconvenience with the security messages. |

Working OK for me now. No more security message from Firefox when I come here.
Thanks freediver. |
