JM has a new alarm about ocean heat.

So apparent Ocean Warming of less than 40Zettajoules, error bars between +/-0.7 and +/-1.8
"The average linear trend of global OHC over the pre-Argo period 1955–2004 is 3.9 ± 0.7 × 1021 J yr−1 (Fig. 1a; Table 1). For the Argo era 2005–2020, we estimate this trend to have increased almost threefold to 10.2 1.8 × 1021 J yr−1. "
Estimation on top of data? But let's remember it takes about 2600 ZettaJoules to heat the ocean 1C. So that makes the error bars about +/- 7/10000 of 1C per year. And no the instruments are not that accurate.

Edit: "Waters deeper than 2000 m are generally not ventilated rapidly enough to have experienced the last 50 years of global warming, but note that both the abyssal overturning slowdown72,73 and oceanic internal waves74 can result in bottom ocean warming over these time scales, as seen in observations"
The only time 50 years is mentioned in the paper, note nothing about coasts being abandoned. ;)
