Title: chooks Post by chimera on Oct 30th, 2023 at 6:17pm
The chooks used to retire for the night, and I locked them away from Fox, at sunset. Now they shuffle around after dark and make me wait. I'm told it's because of Daylight Saving. Surely that's a mistake?

If you place a matchstick upon a shelf.
Then light it with the sun. You'll find that frogs will croak and Russians will drink vodka. |

So it is the increased sun light then?

LOL... no it's not DLS. Get yourself a mature rooster; they make wonderful fox alarms, and usually piss 'em off as well. |

Depends upon the Great Conjunction and the latest song by Snoop Dog. Dengi Fever has gripped the market. The Zen of City living is for Citi-Zens only. |

Right. Got it. Day starts at 3.35am with rooster music practice. Neighbour's peacocks on the early shift 4.55 am. Wattle bird at bedroom window 5.10. Bladder busts 6.05.

Didn't work with Cletus - he was in isolation for attacking The Boss and a fox got him one night... sleeping on the job... |

That's a big fault for a sentry. A neighbour with a bow and arrow was on the job and outfoxed the chicken thief.

I use these so I can leave them unattended for a couple of days with extra food and water when we are out of town.

They have them in Japanese schools. A kid died trying to squeeze through the gate at lock-in time.

Our local butcher has a sign board for Thanksgiving Turkey, so he's ahead of the supermarkets. It must be for scrub turkey. American colonists gave thanks for the autumn harvest. Australian convicts were thankful for a month without a flogging.
The colony, like many British territories at the time, was short of coins, and rum soon became the medium of trade. The officers of the Corps were able to use their position and wealth to buy all the imported rum and then exchange it for goods and labour at very favourable rates, thank you so much. |

Discipline for our Convictions is a well earned gift in itself.
Look at Americans - too much Freedom is nothing short of criminal. |

They have convictions that freedom comes from bullets, bucks and bank fraud. Pence was a turkey and nearly got hanged.
