I’m now thinking of Cods and Nef and other posters who are no longer with us. Perhaps there are a few others who have passed and I don’t even know??

I think we ought to have a topic for remembering/paying our last respects to OzPol posters who are no longer alive. Just my opinion.

I don't really care that you might not like a previously deceased poster. Once they are dead, they are not around to hurt your feelings anymore.

Just reading today about Kat's passing, really put into perspective my own life. For the last month, I have not been in the best of moods. And if people found out that I had a heart attack or some tragic accident, I bet there would be more people saddened by my death than there would be indifference.

The reality is that we should not be using the death of someone on this forum to gauge their worth. That is just indecent. We should acknowledge that they died, make our condolences and move on.

I know John can be a touch on the crass side but he was defending Kat.

It all sounds really devastating, Spot. Huge issues that you're faced with. I wish all the best for your friend in hospital., and for support for all of you, however separated right now.

Kat has come as a huge shock to me and i was only a cyber admirer. I've know Kat since Yahoo and we were both members of a splinter forum that was set up to escape the trolling on Yahoo. Kat was a good, kind, compassionate. empathic and ethical person. I had tremendous amounts of respect for them.

I know friendship goes deeper than that though. I'm so sorry for your loss, Spot.

And if your hide is thick enough, you will find messages of respect for Kat dotted between the usual garbage.

Spot has had all day to answer my PM re HOW he was informed of Kat’s passing. Instead he directed that PM message to me onto the forum. And he didn’t/couldn’t answer it. He doesn’t really know if the guy is dead. Certainly not on the basis of some communication the day before. Perhaps Spot has fears that Kat has passed. For all we know Kat may well be alive and be alive for some time.

And it will probably be even longer before I come back here again.
Though I had never met Kat in person, I found him to be a better friend than a few people I have met.

So Kat stole the identity of someone else to be their 'avatar'? When a photo of a person (not known as a public figure, etc) is posted as their avatar - members 'have the right to presume' that it is them. The hands in the photo give 'that person' away to me, as masculine. But I could be wrong.
Kinda sums Kat up if she/he used a photo of someone else to present it as themselves. Identity theft?
But hey, Kat did suffer from identity issues and sadly must have died of 'complications'.

Don't worry, I'm sure she/he/it/whatever has a few more feline lives left.
