60,000 years ago the Aborigines had the nullah-nullah and the proto-Europeans only had the club!! Darkies ARE more advanced!! The Aborigines moved from the nullah-nullah to space exploration while the Europeans and their offspring languished in barbarity and low tech sub-civilisation (ummmm - wait a minute)!! They had navigation when Euros could only find their way from one place to another.... they had astronomy when Euros could only look at the stars and wonder... they invented bread - ask Pascoe... the ultimate grain-less bread!!! Most sophisticated bread ever known ... trade name Emperor's New Loaves!!!! :o :o :o 8-) ::) :-?

This ape is not the type of ape that Humans developed from it is just a step on the way. The theory goes on to say that this ape likely migrated to Africa where Humans first appeared. This bit is not under contention. Humans first appearing from Africa is not questioned it has just been pointed out that an ape that may have migrated to Africa once lived in europe. This ape may or may not (most likely not based on its genetics) have had something to do with the human linage. |

No, The difference is that the white races moved and lived in the north for long enough that there was a pigment change. There is no argument for a biological superiority based on colour either way. The difference was driven by environment not biology or development. It is the same race developed at the same time. We were likely all darker in the beginning, I don't know what shade. The general idea is that humans had a common ancestor before that ancestor was human. Modern man is about 200,000 years old. The ancestors prior to that might well have travelled all over Asia, Africa and Europe and developed their modern man features that included different racial characteristics. Different climates and diets would have accounted for these different characteristics.

We gave up on that I think back in the '70s and then there was the change in the early '80s to help advance females in the math/science type subjects, ultimately only achieving that goal by bringing boys grades down. |

You should probably stick with unsupported insults as it looks more stupid than normal when you show that you don't know what you are talking about. The theory between flight and sail does use the same theory but the bent surface aspect that is common to both flight and boomerangs is not used in sailing. The bent sail and spinnaker are used downwind not using the air travel principal across a dissimilar length path just the following wind. Sailing up wind uses a tight flat sail. Up wind while using the same principal relies on a completely different mechanism, the movable angle of the sail not the shape of a fixed wing. |

Intelligence is heritable we know that but in may not be in the genes, but in the way certain brain pathways are stronger among individuals and cultures and that can be passed down. An example. Take a culture like abos who don't exactly have advanced mathematics, it may be it will just take multiple generations to grow that and pass it down to their kids. It doesn't mean any individual abo can't be good at maths, but as a group they lag behind. Abos being hunter gatherers would have needed a good memory to source food locations, and also having no written language they'd remember oral traditions. |

As Set said above, you get a total fail. If the boat is moving up wind, it's doing so using LIFT caused by the sail disrupting the air and causing high/low pressure areas in the same way an airplane wing does. Just because it's moving on the water and not up like a plane is irrelevant. |

It does not have a fixed wing it uses the movable angle of the sail to create the lift, it does not use air traveling slower over a bent surface to create the uplift or side lift it uses the leading edge and protected shadow of the sail to create side lift - low pressure or lift. The effect is the same but the mechanics are different. |

out of africa has been old news for a while now
the current up to date thinking supports the notion of multi-regional emergence there is a common ancestor with africans there is actually no population group alive today that has that ancestry. even the bushmen of southern africa are differentiated – it is even possible that our most common ancestor today migrated back into africa from the middle east the population groups that did emerge out of africa then went on to conquer and inter-breed with other human and related population groups that had already spread around the world, such as neanderthals, north and south denvosians, while in africa it is is possible sub-saharan africans intermingled with at least two other now extinct and unknown population groups |

Yes. If you consider the keel to be a downward extension of the sail but which is fixed and solid like a wing. You have water going across the keel much like air across the sail. The stabilizing effect comes from the cross current forming a stabilizing pull action away from the excess course of the wind generated pull action. We are not really a long way away in what we are saying. I don't have a complete understanding here either. In short a wind action skewing the boat right will generate a water current from the right at the keel influencing the boat to the left. Balancing the boats direction. I would consider the rudder more like the tail fin. |

Where Geoff messed up badly is he couldn't stop at, yeah cool invention well done boongs, but he had to go all the way to command of complex aerodynamics and
physics . It's innovation thru cause and effect. Did humans have command of microbiology because they knew cooking food presents sickness? Did humans who stripped the bark off willow trees understand the pharmacologically of why it worked as an analgesic? |

'Alongside the skull in the same fossil layer, experts found evidence of giraffes, warthogs, rhinos, diverse antelopes, zebras, elephants, porcupines, hyenas, and lion-like carnivores. All animals commonly associated with African grasslands and dry forests today'.
It seems that Africa in those days included Turkey. There were lions in Europe and Afro England. |

It's not an invention but a chance discovery. They were throwing sticks at the enemy or prey. Some stocks had unusual flight pattern. The not fit for purpose ones came back. No understanding of aerodynamics is involved. Tres amusant. |

LOL... that's exactly what "invention" is based on. And the aborigines invented the boomerang 50,000 years ago, simply because of observation, and the application of those observations. That's precisely how any/all science proceeds to a working result. At any rate, it took the Wright brothers until 1903 to produce the world's first successful flights of a heavier-than-air flying machine. And yes; the boomerang is technically a heavier-then-air flying machine, invented by humans. [New World Encyclopedia] |

And once again your innate racism shows Frank. Belittling anything the aborigines have ever done, even to the extent of dismissing their development of the boomerang as "chance". Not so. Many relevant and well known scientific theories were developed by chance, at some degree, throughout history... Newton's apple falling perpendicular to the ground. Archimedes bath full of water overflowing. Nobel's blasting jelly. Pasteur's accidental creation of attenuated bacteria. Abbot Laboratories' unplanned discovery of cyclamate's sweetness. —All as a result of chance, just like the boomerang. |

It has no 'application', it's a toy. It proceeded nowhere, like all other things Aboriginal. They are profoundly "anti proceeding' people. No change is a fundamental, core principle of Aboriginality. We call it stagnation, they call it Law. There is an enormous difference between the machine the Wrighf Brothers devised in 1903 and the international space station. There is absolutely no difference between a boomerang of 50,000 BC and yesterday. |

Oh dear... this is like responding to a child LOL. And it's more than obvious you're a racist. The mere fact that you belittle the aborigine's further development of the boomerang from a chance discovery clearly shows that. Just as those other scientists I listed further developed their chance discoveries. That you say, "It has no 'application', it's a toy. It proceeded nowhere, like all other things Aboriginal", is a solid indicator of your racism. If I gave you a lump of driftwood, and a couple of sharpened stones, could you fashion a returning boomerang? Of course not—you wouldn't have a clue. But then you denigrate the Aboriginals who can. |

The thread title is dishonest. But that's about what i've come to expect from Gordy.
White people didn't evolve from "darkies" (Jesus) ... we are on the same rung of the evolutionary ladder. Gordy meant to say "adapted" ... but he didn't know how. |

A boomerang is a throwing stick, used for hunting, fishing and war. It is a stick used as weapon. The vast majority of boomerangs are of the non-returning variety. The oldest known boomerang-like throwing stick, fashioned from mammoth tusk 23,000 years ago, was found in Poland. Is it a denigration to say that a culture like the Aborigines has stagnated for tens of thousands of years? For cultures that haven't stayed unchanged all that time, it may well be a denigration. It identifies a key characteristic of Aboriginal culture: extreme conservatism. Culturally stagnant periods in our own Western cultural history are also denigrated as backward or oppressive or suffocating. We designate our own most stagnant period as the Dark Ages. The really interesting question is: why did Aborigines remain essentially stagnant Stone Age people? And a supplementary question is: do the reasons for such spectacularly static, unchanging culture play an ongoing part in Aboriginal lives in remote parts of Australia that are least touched by other cultural influences? These are questions similar to the ones that can be asked about European cultural dynamism and periods of stagnation, or Chinese or Japanese stagnation followed by dynamism as a result of European influence. Coincidence?
Aborigines went to Australia and got trapped/isolated by Seas. Negroes went to Africa and got trapped/isolated by Deserts. ...just saying. Both Aborigines and Negroid Africans are the most 'isolated' gene groups in the world. |

Oh look, John Smith, making up utter crap again. https://www.nature.com/articles/329436a0 Excavations in a cave in the Oblazowa Rock in south Poland revealed an Upper Palaeolithic cultural level with an abundance of lithic and organic artefacts as well as palaeozoological material. This level yielded a fragment of mammoth tusk showing the characteristic traits of a complete boomerang. This is the earliest certain find of this type of weapon in the world. |
