The Voice to parliament will make them see the error of their ways as the lack of such a voice is OBVIOUSLY the reason for they situation. It has absolutely nuffin' to do wiv buying grog when genocidal, colonialist white supremacist racist Liquorland opens in the morning.

Oh, yeah. Back in the 1700s and 1800s when the labour laws were not in place to protect people from slave like conditions.

Versus today where an ethnicity, with all the modern conveniences available, has the time and money to drink alcohol.

I think I feel sorry for the enslaved 19th century Europeans.

Real Australians have repossessed Chez Gordon and allowed Gordon to escape to the bush with his tribe.

It’s not a real ID remember...just a fake troll SHARED id that’s clinically insane so it will come back to be kicked around some more. Enjoy kicking it’s arse around.

I was not questioning you about this. I only noticed this when Captain Caveman pointed this out.

So, what lead to this form of alcoholism in this part of the world? Was it the loss of land? Was it the dispossession of culture? Were the children removed from their families?

Or maybe it was the denial of their rights and the forced labour at low pay that led these people to take to the drink to be able to cope with the conditions they endured.

Using European utensils.

They broil indiscriminately all substances which they eat.  Though they boil
water in small quantities in oyster shells for particular purposes,
they never conceived it possible until shown by us, to dress meat
by this method, having no vessel capable of containing a fish or a bird
which would stand fire.  Two of them once stole twelve pounds of rice
and carried it off.  They knew how we cooked it, and by way of putting it
in practice they spread the rice on the ground before a fire,
and as it grew hot continued to throw water on it.  Their ingenuity was
however very ill rewarded, for the rice became so mingled with the dirt
and sand on which it was laid, that even they could not eat it,
and the whole was spoiled.]

That is one version of events.  Indigenous people often boiled water using fresh leaves and wood coolabahs,  Soren.  Just goes to show how little you know or understand Indigenous peoples' culture.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   ::) ::)

This is how you boil water if your only tools are fire and stone. Skin a roo, scrape then tan it's skin with ashes. Use stick to let the skins/wood make a bowl like a reverse teepee., fill with water, heat stones on fire put them in water, add rice. I wonder if they worked that out. I would hope they did.

Quote:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples also employ heat transfer by convection when heating liquids over a fire. When air is heated by fire, the warmer air becomes less dense than the cool air and it rises, and is then replaced by the cooler air underneath. Placing a vessel of water over a fire allows the heat energy from rising air to contact the vessel and transfer heat to the object. The water closest to the heat source in the vessel warms and rises, being replaced by cooler, more dense water molecules to create a convection current. The continual exchange of water molecules in this way results in the entire vessel of water being heated to the desired temperature. Prior to colonisation, the Kuku-Yalanji Peoples of the rainforest region of far north Queensland used large bailer (melon) shells or bark troughs for boiling water over a fire. The Meriam Peoples of Mer Island in the Torres Strait boil water or coconut milk in a bailer shell over a fire, with the large shell supported over the fire on stones. Alternatively, water is heated by adding hot stones into the vessel of water. Tubers, roots, fish and meats are then cooked or boiled in the heated liquid. These processes require an understanding of the transfer of heat through both convection and conduction processes

Bark troughs

Used to boil water on the open fire (large seas shells were also used for this job). The bark troughs were also employed to help separate seeds from other rubbish that may have been gathered with them (dirt and bark etc). Seeds were tossed into the air and then caught again in the trough. The lighter rubbish would blow away in the wind as the heavier seeds fell back into the trough. Heavier rubbish was later separated from the seeds by swaying the trough in a rocking motion.

If that's right - that last - why is Canberra not higher than Mt Kosciusko, smarty-pants?

AND the crafty buggars learned how to winnow seeds from chaff!!!  The bastards.... snuck another one up on us all, eh?

Anyway - this 60,000 years is irrelevant for the times they have a changed in .... rules are different.... the primitive way of bashing someone who disagrees with you no longer has currency and as a civilised race we are supposed to be way beyond that by now.

The rules on land ownership have changed and now is the time for all to be brought under one law to bind them all and not this free-for-all that existed pre 1788, wherein any group of nomads could lay claim to a swathe of land and wipe out or partially absorb existing inhabitants and then defend it against any other intruders arriving just like themselves and seeking to take control of it for nomadic purposes.

Therefore land rights are now dead and extinct and all must abide by the same laws.

Same with interpersonal relations - it is no longer a right of anyone to physically beat someone else to 'put them in their place'... that is the way of the primitive and we are supposed to be a civilised culture operating under one law to bind them all... not separate laws for every tiny group that persists with bashing people into line Mayo style.  That very serious problem has pervaded in this convict colony nation for far too long now, from many sides of this society, and has been the cause of many terrible wrongs, not least of which is massive injustice in the legal system based on some system of 'class' - courts being a way to bash the peasants into their place from around 1788 to somewhere in the 21st Century when they began to depart from their darkness of adhering to the mythical idea that any complaint was somehow valid regardless of facts and realities. (Look what they did to Ned Kelly).

Look how many idiots to this day persist with the idea that they have some inalienable right to bash someone who disagrees with them and that they possess the right to shove their ideas on others by demand and force and menace.  This is a sign of savage dysfunctionality in any society, group, culture or individual, and that includes families.  That includes feminists, BLM, trans activists, climate activists, Indigenous activists, and so forth  unto forever....

You all need to look very carefully at your current set of 'activist' groups for this kind of social disease, and then proceed to root it out wherever its evil lies.

Welcome To MY Land!!  The Land Of The Future!

.... the future that was starting to look good until the activist groups came along in their fine raiment of luxury of the West and started to dismantle Rights to suit their own childish schoolyard agendas ... and you all know who started that off..... the feminists.  this joint has never looked up since.........  8-)

Well - you can always have the rules of a civilised society or the rules of a jungle where any group wandering through might set upon the inhabitants and wipe them out root and branch in order to claim their land as their land, like the Aborigines before Civilisation Day, even though all they ever do is wander over it in search of something to eat.

You thrive in the civilised society..... in your Utopia you would be desperately defending home and hearth from every other group and living a short and bloody life while trying to do so.

By contrast the White Man carried out punitive actions against the groups which just plain thought their old ways would be sufficient to keep 'their land' - that they stole from the previous tenants anyway ...

Now the rules are - if you want land you buy it... so start the chook raffles all you Indigenous ...

No more one rule for the majority and a special dispensation for some.

There were no original owners. There was no sovereign power in Australia before 1788.  There was nobody to ask, to negotiate with or make a treaty with. Even now, there is no Aboeiginal sovereignty or anything even remotely approximating it. Who would you ask now to get a definitive answer about what Aborigines want? The 24 stooges appointed to the Voice, to speak for the hundreds of tribes and thousands of mixed race permutations? Stan Grant? Burney? Pascoe? Who?

White people have spiritual connection to land.
Why are they not recognised?
Especially when they feed more people than the efforts of the Aborigines
