Newsom is a disaster for the people of California and will be one for the whole country if he ever obtains higher office.

How many time are you people going to cut that board and complain it is still too short.

The real problem is the Norman Rockwell's America is now considered Far Right and Sodom and Gomora is now considered mainstream!

Piss and moan about anything the media tells them to piss and moan about.

Brian Ross wrote on Jun 12th, 2023 at 5:17pm:

How is it done?...Amending the United States Constitution.......

You would need 2/3rds of all the Representatives in the US House of Representatives (290 of the 435), along with 2/3rds of all the Senators in the US Senate  (67 of the 100)  to completely agree to the wording of your 'new amendment', & then & only then can it be sent to the 50 individual US States where 3/4ths of all the States in those individual 50 States (38 of the 50 States) must agree as well. Then & only then can your New Amendment become part of the United States Constitution, & become the Law of the Land.

FACT:  Over 12,000 Proposed Amendments have been suggested to Amend the US Constitution since 1789......of those 12,000+ suggestions only 33 were passed as required by both Houses of Congress & sent to the individual States (The People) for Ratification.......& of those only 17 Amendments were passed & successfully ratified by the American People......

Good Luck!!

Until then this is the  Constitutional Right of the American People:

Yes, absolutely!

17 Amendments in 230+ years.....

If the American People Really, Really, Really want to amend their Constitution they absolutely can. After all it's their document, not the Government's.

As I noted so many times before....America is not a Democracy where 50%+1 (a Majority) rules the day.....

So the procedures to amend the US Constitution requires a very broad consensus, & a slim majority has never, & will never, cut it.

That's the way the American Founding Fathers intended. If the Cherished American Constitution is ever in need of an update, the American People must have a very broad consensus to do so, unlike in many other Countries where they amend their Constitutions, at every whim, via referendums with ever so slim majorities.

I have to laugh!      :D

EVERY time a thread mentions US firearms laws or the
2nd Amendment, out crawls Panther from under his
rock.  He refuses to acknowledge the dire situation the
US finds itself in with regard to its massive death toll from
guns—the worst in any first world country, and even
many third-world countries.

•  America has the weakest gun laws and the most
    guns—393 million—of any comparable nation.

•  The US accounts for just 4% of the world’s
population but 35% of global firearm suicides.

•  Americans are 25 times more likely to be killed in a
gun homicide than people in other high-income countries.

To date this year in the US, there have been 8,305
gun homicides, and 10,758 gun suicides, with 290
mass shootings (4+ deaths).

So... I openly challenge Panther to respond to these
data, and explain exactly how he can morally justify
the tenets of the 2nd Amendment.  I also ask him if
he's unperturbed by the number of firearm deaths,
and in particular the deaths of 794 innocent children?

He doesn't care.

He views his personal 2nd Amendment "rights" as more important than a few deaths here and there.

You cannot reason with these people.

You don't need to change the constitution in order to have more sensible gun control which saves the lives of hundreds of children every year.

My answer to all of your 'data' is......

The Law - The US Constitution:

I stand by our American Rights, an American's Right to use whatever arms We the American People deem necessary....not the government, including deadly force, to protect our own lives, the lives of our family, the lives of our friends & neighbors, & to protect our personal property.

Now if you don't like my answer, too bad......suck it up & get over it.......

If you don't like the Law, I suggest you go about changing it if you think you have the power to change it....

I like my Rights to keep & bear arms just the way they are, & if I am ever called upon to, I am prepared to defend my Rights, Rights that only 'We the American People' have the power to repeal.

Now, if proposed gun laws do not affect the criminals who are responsible for committing the crimes, but only negatively affect those the crimes are committed against....law-abiding Americans, then that's a bad law.....& that law must be disregarded in total, & nullified via our non-compliance.....by We, the American People......

Americans must not comply with any gun ban that only affects the Law-Abiding, & does not affect the criminals who have proven time & time again that they will ignore any law in order to commit their heinous crimes......

I'm beginning to think that this person posting
as "Panther" is slightly(?) insane.    I've never
seen so much jingoistic drivel written in one
comment as this sort of blatantly blathering bullshit.

I also have to note that Panther lacked the cojones
in order to respond to my challenge about his
justifying the gun deaths of so many US citizens.

He's nothing more than a piss-weak, wannabe
gangsta with an obvious inferiority complex.

In fact, we probably should be pitying him as the
moral coward he so obviously is.

The 2nd amendment does not prevent reasonable gun laws. The supreme court agrees with this position.

The 2nd Amendment was never meant to materially support the slaughter of children. The foreFathers would be turning over in their graves at this insane abuse of the constitution.

FBI data shows fists and feet kill more people than rifles in the US. Knives bats and clubs are used in more homicides than rifles.
Rifles in FBI data includes those scary black semi autos that frighten the bedwetters like you.

Mother Jones a leftist publication says 145 mass shootings since 1982.
