Title: Victoria, you’re standing in it!
Post by Sophia on May 24th, 2023 at 10:43pm
Thanks to Han Dan and this HUGE state deficit!

Our Vic premier has put a budget forward that we have to pay it off.
Big businesses and landlords are hit hard with extra taxes.
It’s like biting the hand that feeds people.
Landlords have struck back saying the rent will go even higher now but… the cunning premier Han Dan is putting a lock on rent rising at all. Are we truly in a dictatorship state. I recall some interstates calling it Dictoria.

First they’re crying we have a housing crisis rental crisis, with not enough investors buying, now they  will impose extra land tax onto the current investors/landlords ….. with the threshold dropping from approx $350,000 to $50,000

I sense a stuff you approach as many landlords will sell … then there’s even less houses on market to rent.
And think again about big businesss… knowt to do with us?
Food? Clothing? Etc watch the prices go up.

I don’t believe any bs about a debt being paid off without going into yet another debt further down the track.

People did vote for communism -

it hasn't worked anywhere else -

will it work in Victoria?

My hubby and I and our adult kids never voted for the plick.

If a lot of renters voted for him… now they will suffer the consequences of “biting the hand that fed ya”

Housing crisis much? A few home builders gone belly up.
When we go out, there are open homes for viewing to lease and a looooong line of people … all hoping to be the lucky ones to rent it.

Victoria is a shocking place under communism.
I'm seriously thinking of moving.

Exactly what hubby was saying… added to that he said… and that @&#% has been to China that many times… it’s all about communism.

I also heard that big businesses will leave Victoria and set up elsewhere interstate.

Thought he could charge the living daylights out of them… only to create a big empty void.

Shooting himself in the foot.
Bad business fool … hasn’t got a clue. Already creating a lot of backlash.

Tassie?
It's cold enough in Melbourne without living in the Antarctic roaring 40s.    tsk tsk   ::) ::)

I've been to Hobart in November - it was freezing.

So you dress warm. No 40+ days in Tassie and summer nights are cool—you can sleep.

But you haven’t bought a home and your capital is severely depleted I would say.

And we're getting on with it.

Not exactly sure what "it" is but Dan sure is "getting on with it".
