Not too heavy a science video. There is the Dutchman who is an expert woolly mammoth fossil hunter—from trawlers off Rotterdam to the Klondike to working with a paleozoologist in southern Africa—like people, the woolly mammoths originated in South Africa!

Worth watching.

It's interesting that the video says the "mysterious" disappearance of the
woolly mammoths.  This brings to mind the mysterious disappearance of
Australia's megafauna—thought to be caused by the early Aboriginals
effectively changing the ecosystem over eons, as there was an overlap
of 25,000 years of the megafauna population and the Aboriginal population.

Life and death in tropical Australia, 40,000 years ago.

Yeah, overhunting and climate change not enough to explain the disappearance, according to the youtube.

Aboriginal hunting + fires + climate change did in the megafauna here.

Bit of a fun video: time team digging in a rubbish tip in Oxford to find woolly mammoth tusks/bones. But some discussion relating environment to critters and geologic activity after critters have died, how to interpret to find bones. One of the better (earlier) Time Team episodes.
