This forum is a prime example of (presumably) smart people
who hold on to silly ideas.  One has only to look at the single
minded clique of anti-vaxxers and COVID deniers for example.

These people have held on to their silly ideas about the pandemic
despite a plethora of well-researched data being presented to them,
along with numerous citations to peer-reviewed papers (which they
apparently and steadfastly refuse to read).

This site details the issue of vaccine hesitancy:

Potential cognitive biases that contribute to vaccine hesitancy.

But of course I know our anti-vaxxers will ignore this as well LOL.
