Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenager
in Melbourne's bayside suburb of St Kilda on Sunday night.


Key points:

    An 18-year-old Tarneit man was fatally stabbed during a fight in St Kilda 
    Police believe up to six people were involved in the altercation
    The knife used to kill the man was recovered at the scene

Police were called to St Kilda beach just after 7:30pm following reports a group of people were fighting.

An 18-year-old man from Tarneit, in Melbourne's outer west, was found with stab wounds on the beach near Pier Road. He was taken to hospital, where he died. 

Acting Inspector Nigel L'Estrange said a group of up to six people was believed to have been involved in the incident.

"We believe we will identify these people. There were a number of CCTV cameras in the area," he said.

"We will be hopefully making arrests soon and we will bring these people to justice."

A teenager is fighting for his life after he was allegedly set upon by a group and stabbed at a Melbourne shopping centre.

Five teenage boys were arrested after police were called to Watergardens Shopping Centre in the city’s west just after 7pm on Wednesday.

The victim, a 19-year-old Sunbury man, was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remained in a critical condition on Thursday morning.


Police from the Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit said the stabbing occurred after an altercation was sparked between two men and a “group of youths” in the food court at the shopping centre around 7.05pm.

A manhunt is underway in Victoria in a bid to catch the killers of two young men who police say were shot in a targeted attack.

Atem Atem, 29, his friend and his family dog died after they were gunned down on Saturday at around 2.30am outside his suburban Melbourne home.

Another man, believed to be a friend of the two deceased and aged 23, was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

It’s not easy to lose someone, it’s not easy,” the Herald Sun reported the father of the young man said.

He said his son was set to visit South Sudan with his mother in March and had worked on building sites.

The killers motives are not yet clear, but on Saturday Detective Inspector Chris Murray said a large group was involved in the suburban attack.

Detective inspector Murray also reported Mr Atem – one of eight siblings – and his two friends were set upon by three vehicles.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 24-year-old man
after he allegedly stabbed another man to death after an argument in a western Sydney home.

"Prince Fahnbulleh, aged 24, is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for murder," NSW Police said in a statement on Sunday.

Emergency crews were called to a home at St Clair about 4.30pm on Friday where they found an unconscious man with serious injuries.

The injured man was given aid by police until paramedics arrived, however he was unable to be saved and died at the scene.

Mr Fahnbulleh came to the home and argued with the victim before stabbing him and fleeing, police say.

Two females at the home at the time of the incident were not physically injured but were assessed by paramedics.

Police searched for Mr Fahnbulleh following the incident and say he may have been armed and travelling on a dirt bike.

Investigators have called for public assistance to locate Mr Fahnbulleh. He is described as being of African appearance, about 165cm tall, with a solid build, brown eyes, black hair and a beard.
