Had this fella surprise me in the front yard yesterday.

He wasn't frightened, but must have been thirsty wanting to drink out of the fish pond.

His left ear had a chunk out of it & he looked a little thin on it.

He later went over the road & was laying under trees for the rest of the day.

It's galvanised mesh..... that's not actually rust it's stain from what's in the water like the waste from fish shyte.

The ear would have been damaged by dogs.  He might just be old. 

They do that at my place for months sometimes, then they die.

I've lived a few places where the roos are on the front yard and in the back yard doing what they do - mow the grass.

When I lived in Sanctuary Point JB. Chinese tourists would as where the best spot to see Kangaroos? They were surprised to learn that the roos can be seen everywhere. JB roos are quite 'road-wise' in that they've learned to wait for the cars to pass before crossing. They weren't jumpy or flighty when people were around also. Could walk past them by a few metres.
