I just sent a PM to FD.

I can only work those
sites with my mobile.

All other sites work with my desktop.

I cleared my cache and restarted.

It doesn't work.

It's come back - now it's working from my desktop.

That was incredibly weird.

I reset my Norton firewall but that didn't help.
I can only assume that Optus was blocking both sites as
they were not visible
and now Optus has reset their firewall?

so by putting a dot at the end of the name it gives that message.

But how did that dot get there?

OK -
the impossible happened -
I unplugged the 4G modem waited 10 seconds and plugged it back in and now it's all working.

The radio 4G modem does not have a firewall in it so what I am seeing is impossible.
I even checked on Google -
a 4G modem is not a firewall yet that is what has happened.
It was able to block 2 sites.

( during this fault finding procedure tonight I did turn off
my Norton firewall briefly etc but it didn't help )

Once again - the troubleshooting procedures in Firefox
and Edge were of no use what so ever -
in fact in over 27 years of using computers online
they have never once helped me.
(Used to be Internet Explorer then )
Things happen with computers that cannot be explained.

Oh I was referring to rebooting the computer.

Well there you go! 

I usually don't bother with any of this rebooting though - my eldest son and husband do all that.

I just use my iPhone (and sometimes my iPad).
