Lead guitarist, and guitar collector.

My live playing days are over, but used to play in original bands (and the occasional cover band).

My bands were heavy blues rock, alternative/punk, and hair metal.

Nowadays my style would probably be best described as blues rock, in the vein of SRV, Hendrix, John Mayer, Clapton, and Gilmour (i.e. Dad Rock and boomer bends).

My go to axe is a US Fender Strat, played through a Marshall or Fender Amp.

Only use a delay pedal these days.  Keeping things simple.

I used to play piano but I wasn't very good.
It's too hard to master for most people including me.
You'd need to put in at least 5 hours a day for 10 years to be really good at it.
I used to sing on stage but that wasn't appealing after a while.
By the time you get the songs down pat you're bored with them.
Showbiz is not all it's cracked up to be.
It's really hard work and dedication - for little reward.
Only those at the top make any decent money.
99.9% of the rest do it because they love it - not for the money.
It's no wonder those at the top, end up on drugs and booze from the stress.
All that glitters is not gold.

Ludwig Snare Drum: Venus Limited edition signed by Carl Palmer. (Emerson, Lake & Palmer / Asia).

Ludwig Snare Drum Joey Cramer (Signed) It has the Aerosmith wings instead of the Ludwig symbol. Only 3 Ludwig drums produced since about 1915 that do not have the Ludwig badge. Both Drums are from the Black Magic series. (nice but nothing special). All this stuff is played.

Have a Bob Dylan limited edition Harmonica - should have got the set (worth a lot now) and a John Lennon limited edition. Both based on the Hohner marine band that I do not like playing so only as collectables. Have a set of Suzuki Olive that I like to play. (currently not playing H because of medical issue - Sinus thing).

Few other pieces played by various performers.

Addition:

Daughter was studying Audio Engineering so have a large collection of recording / mixing gear Microphones and stuff like that.

I mic up my zoom sessions with either a RODE NT1 or Duel SM57's set up in the US president format - just because I can.

We can mix / record 8 microphones into the Drum kit.

Wow, that's cool.  I've met Joey but not got anything signed.  I do have stuff signed, for me, in front of me, by Ozzy Osbourne.  Lots of other signed stuff but nothing else that big.

Well music runs in my family, I never put the time in but can pick up any instrument and get something out of it. I was going OK on the piano when I was a kid.

My daughter is currently working on AMEB grade 8 in piano.

Satriani is my number four, and he's probably the guy who has influenced my playing the most.

Met the guy a few times (a friend of mine played in his band), and have seen him play live at least 20 to 25 times.

The very first time I saw him on stage was back in about 1988(?) when he was the guitarist in Mick Jagger's solo tour.

I sensed something special about him that night.

I've never managed to see him.  I was blown away when I heard Surfing with the Alien.  I love to play that song, and a few others (summer song, big bad moon) but I'd say my playing is too blues based to really count him as an influence.  Incredible player though.  Also taught Kirk Hammett.

I learned to play by playing SRV, I am in a SRV cover band now.  So I play a lot of metal and tap happily, but honestly I never do it while improvising.  Angus Young is closer to my personal style, although I can play most Maiden songs first run through.  Priest is another story, especially later on....  My new band is hoping to play Painkiller.  I've never been able to sweep pick so I need to see if I can play it.....

Was quite memorable.

back in the 70s i played the piano (not very well it was forced on all of us because there was a piano in the house).

Suze was one of the gang back in the early '80s, and we all hung out at nightclubs together (with Mark Lizotte too, AKA Diesel).

When she fell in love with Nuno we got to meet him a few times.

He was a bit up himself, but you have to remember, he was on the cover of every issue of every guitar magazine in the world at that stage.

When Suze returned from a Baby Animals world tour with Van Halen, I caught up with her at a guitar clinic in Perth.

I was backstage talking with Dave Leslie (from Baby Animals) and he showed me his new guitar - a purple (from memory) Music Man EVH.

It was a present from Eddie   :)

I haven't seen Suze for several years - not sure if she's living here any more or if she moved back to LA.

I just checked, I can't get III sides on vinyl for under $200.  I thought it was the better album.  The last one was poo though.  The reunion album was OK.

I literally got to see Mark (Diesel) play live two or three times a week.

Back in the early '80s he was the guitarist in a nightclub house band here in Perth.

They were called 'Innocent Bystanders', and were heavily influenced by Springsteen.

He played a Schecter (back when they were a parts-caster guitar company) and he was truly impressive - a gifted player.

He used to attract women like you wouldn't believe, so we would all hang around him between sets  ;D

He was always a very nice, and humble guy.

He played with Suze and her sister in a Perth band called The Kind - they were really good.

I think that's the band my mate played in, after Mark left, and that's how he hooked up with Suze.

Man, the '80s were great  :)

Jennifer is an amazing instrumentalist.

The guitar being played would be his 59 burst. (1959 Gibson Les Paul in sunburst) He passed it onto Gary Moore for the 300 pounds it cost him. It was last known to be sold to a collector for $2 Million.

This is the guitar with the polarity accidentally reversed on the front pickup, they never managed to deliberate do it with the same sound result.

I had it on CD but I sold it when I sold all my CDs.  their cover of can I sit next to you girl was awesome.  I beleive they had a rivalry with Screaming Jets, and sadly lost.  I thought they were the better band.  Better is in fact the only GREAT Jets song IMO

Many years ago, I was able to play the guitar competently. I was okay with the piano. I did well with drums. But, I have not even touched a guitar or drums in these last 18 years. Nor have I bothered playing Mum's piano. My sister took off with grandma's keyboard. And even if I was given a guitar, drum set, or keyboard, it would take me at least 6 months to get back up to a level of musical competency.
