Title: Gravity power/batteries

Something different, something dark horse.

So first you have to have despatchable "excess" energy.

True.
But the core of this energy making. Does it have potential?

there is a potential created. A voltage is  potential difference.

Sounds absurdly expensive, as described.

Hydro power is basically gravity power. And pumped hydro is a gravity battery.

Same concept as pumped hydro, but better for a dryish country.
The main cost would be the motors.

No it wouldn't.

Considering Physicists consider Gravity as the strongest most powerful force in the universe. I think Science is missing something here in regards to harnessing this source as a power? Shouldn't it then have the potential to provide more power than Nuclear, or would that punch a gravity hole in this planet bigger than a nuke crater?

So you would need an even greater force. Or a slope and wheels as an increment to  gravity. Which still is a loss making proposition ::)

Well, like a rocket. I don't think this concept will get off the ground much without much cost then.

Technically speaking, gravity is the weakest of the 4 forces, however, it has the longest range.

1) the strong nuclear force
2) the electromagnetic force
3) the weak nuclear force
4) gravity.

Pumped-storage hydroelectricity plants are a net consumer of
energy overall, due to the losses of the pumping process.

And gravity power has been in use for centuries...

All batteries are net consumers.
