Personal experiences only, Bobby, but please spare us the details of the dramatic results from rubbing your penis with Vaseline for 5 minutes.

No, Bobby, I am not, but your sexuality has been a curiosity here for as long as I can recall. Why is that?

Aspirin for sunburn works for me - the next day the redness and inflammation is gone. Dunno if this is a true home remedy. I have found taking aspirin BEFORE I get in the sun works as well.

I was a delivery driver for a few years in my late teens. All kinds of weather would take its toll on me. But, during the wet season, it was not uncommon for me to get the occasional soaking in my socks. After a while, it would not matter how much I scrubbed my feet with soap and water, the feet were always somewhat fungal.

It took until I was 30 years old and trying to look presentable from head to toe. Someone suggested putting Vicks Vaporub on my feet (especially around the toes). I tried it for a week. After a few days, the toenails started to darken a bit. Then I had to clip away at the toenails. I learned to clip away at the toenails before applying the Vicks. Over a couple of months, the toenails looked clean and healthy. I no longer had the stink of fungal infections when I took my socks off.

If it is the summer (or late spring or early autumn), I just apply ice cubes to the sunburn. That is after having a 10 minute cold shower to lessen the burns. The ointment is applied over the main areas.

Using baking soda as a mouthwash helps prevent halitosis for long periods of time.

Fennel seeds for a sour stomach.

Fennel is a noxious weed in Tassie. But is naturalised and grows around streams so I should have no problems with supplies.

99.9% of "home remedies" are just placebos, with the only - so called - evidence being personal testimony and anecdotes, which are meaningless.

Interestingly the home remedies never cure anything serious, just vague feelings of unwellness or minor conditions that will always clear up by themselves anyway.

Right now, I am having a glass mug of diluted lemon juice to prevent a potential rhinovirus from developing. From personal experience over the last 17 years, this has worked in stopping the colds from eventuating. Nothing more than a sniffle.

Except a glass of sodium bicarb for acid reflux.

I agree broadly with what you say—these date back to before modern medicine and the fouler the taste the better the remedy was felt to be  :) Some give symptomatic relief.

Lime juice is very effective. Have not had a cold sore since 2015.

Dilute lemon juice has ZERO anti viral properties. It will do NOTHING to prevent a common cold virus
I would suggest that you actually only had a case of the "sniffles" no virus whatsoever but you are such a raging hypochondriac that you thought you were coming down with a virus.
Thats exactly why personal testimonies and anecdotes are meaningless when it comes to medicine

I have just finished a glass of diluted orange juice with a little apple cider vinegar added. I cannot overstate the health benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. But, lemon or lime juice are both good substitutes in helping reduce the symptoms of a common cold. ACV, lemon and lime juice put in a glass of water is useful in reducing the likelihood of a common cold eventuating. Not only does the vitamin C help keep you healthy, but the ascorbic acid also helps kill off some of the viruses flowing through the body, which helps the immune system develop the antibodies needed to rid the body of the virus.

The last significant cold that I endured was in the year 2017. I had a runny nose for a day before I was able to get to the store and buy a bunch of bottles of lemon juice. I mixed the lemon juice into my cup of water. I added an aspro clear to help with resolving the headache. By the next day, I awoke to see that I was clearing up without a runny nose. Normally a cold for me would mean exhibiting a runny nose for 2 or 3 days -- not 1 day. And my ears popped for me to hear properly again after a week.

By the way, deep cleaning a house that is long overdue for a clean has meant that I have picked up germs that has given my immune system a workout. It would not surprise me that my symptoms might become a common cold by the end of the week. That is why I give acv the drink I use to avoid getting sick.
