For the past 20 years, business pundits have pointed out that every industry is in a process of "disruptive innovation," that today's markets change with lightning speed, and that only nimble companies can survive.

Except, apparently, when they have women CEOs, in which case companies can just cruise on automatic pilot because the previous CEO, a male, did such a spectacular job. Give me a break!

Look, let's just admit it: When it comes to doing business, on average, women are smarter than men. For crying out loud, are our male egos so fragile that we can't bear to admit what's been obvious for years?

As somebody who's worked for about a dozen women and two dozen men (mostly editors), my observation is that the women, in general, were smarter, sharper, more reliable and, well, smarter.

With all this in mind, I have the following advice for entrepreneurs:

- Take a closer look at your hiring policies to root out bias against women. Because most people can't perceive their own prejudices, you may have to over-correct.
- Review your promotions list to make sure a qualified woman isn't being overlooked in favor of an equally qualified or less-qualified man.
- Stop creating corporate cultures that are hostile to women. Doing so is just driving away the brainpower you need to grow your company.

Hubby always put it like this to me from very early days of our marriage (at age 22) that I am good at what I do and he is good at what he does.
Our differences were noted, and respected.
In decades past, when I was more active as entrepreneur with real estate… it was a male donated world back then.
A change started where females started becoming real estate agents, and conveyancers/solicitors/bank managers.
I started dealing with females on the business world more and more and I felt a difference. I then actively sought more females as they made fewer mistakes and were more tuned in, and attentive. Perhaps to prove themselves in a male dominated work force… whatever the reason I liked it.. and was pleased to see these changes happening.

I have 2 adult children .. one male, one female, and observe them as they advance in age. Both smarter and cleverer as they age (definitely more street wise than their ole ma and pa kettle  ;D) and it’s such a delight to see how well they cope with this interesting current life we have.
They both are good at what they do equally yet differently.
Something I would never say is one is dumber than the other… they both made mistakes in life… but learnt from it and moved on.
You know what’s smart… common sense.
And that’s available to everyone equally for free.

Again - you've missed every single port of call and utter unsupported opinions with no substance to them.  The function in an arena built and maintained by men - without that they'd be scratching their fleas and scratching the ground for food.

My boy and girl were always encouraged to be the best they can be and wanted to be.  Boy is a tradie making a motza after quitting uni, and is setting about organising his own business... Girl could be anywhere in the world at the moment in the film industry... never know for sure... on my 70th she was in New York baby-sitting some stars... easy ... she said it was just drinking their wine etc with them...

Never for a moment thought of them as having different capacities for success.... in-born into them both...
