Australia's largest fire season was 1974-75 and that was during the global cooling scare. But does that count? :o

And of course fuel load is what burns. If you don't reduce fuel load, regularly, there will be bigger fires. That's pretty basic.

1990 - 2020 - 6 fires greater than 1million Ha
1960 - 1990 - 6 fires greater than 1million Ha.

So no evidence of increased Megafires.

Another modelled study but from Antarctic ice cores. According to Liu et al aerosols have been stable over the last 250 years. So much for new aerosols causing cooling.

So it seems these megafires are not new. ;)
