Title: It's the end of the world as we know it
Post by greggerypeccary on Oct 5th, 2021 at 8:46am

And I feel fine.

"Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were hit by a massive global outage this morning, meaning tens of millions of people worldwide couldn’t access the sites."

For five long, torturous hours mindless drones had to raise their empty heads, look straight ahead, and talk to people face to face.

Will the world ever recover from this disaster?

lol... the horror!  ;D

I've seen what happens here in Australia when Telstra, Optus or one of the other big Telcos have an outage, even for a couple of hours. Idiots whinging and whining later on the TV news about how their lives come to a complete stop because they can't access social media. :D

And, things are getting worse. I see this every day when I'm checking out the various State health departments' Twitter accounts (usually to get a good laugh from all the crazies who post on them):

https://twitter.com/bost_app/status/1444789754764083203

I suspect this is a 'TwitterBot', by the way.

Now I've seen it all. A phone app that's been made so people almost or actually in the same room can communicate and maintain social distancing. Whatever happened to... oh, I dunno... SPEAKING UP A BIT?

That's another 'trait' I've noticed in people with their heads buried in their phones all day... when they do actually speak they tend to speak quietly and mumble.

Freaking unbelievable. ::)

In the Old Worlds, Sapiens have had to develop away from the Caveman mascot of strong physical body, weak mental brain.

In the New Worlds, Sapiens have to develop away from the Alien mascot of strong mental brain (based on technology), weak physical bodies.

Funny how 'mental illness' is on the rise in 'technological' nations run by A.I's and the such.
In the Old Worlds, it was Physical Slavery.
In the New Worlds, it will be Mental Slavery.

Often your posts are gibberish but the above is terrifyingly true with the one proviso we may wipe ourselves off the planet before we’re fully enslaved by IT.

My mum called me alarmed that FB was down and that only reinforced my belief that the platform mainly caters to the elderly (who are quite vulnerable to what they read there) who are often bored without much to do (like my mother).

Wow a good old fashioned phone call instead of FB posts.

A good day for communications with family then.

I prefer the days before mobiles and mobiles with data, you could go out and no-one could contact you. Much more fun for mischief.
