"As-yume" is English. "A-soom" is Irish. "A-shume" is Bog Irish.

There is a fundamental difference between Aussies with Irish and those of British descent.
The British were sent to Australia as convicted criminals while the Iris were sent as political dissidents or prisoners of war who were fighting to liberate their homeland from British occupation.
