Thanks - because 3 to 6 months is useless - we'll be back with more Covid nonsense before 2022. |

Yes, well ... how can anyone know YET how long the vaccine is effective? They have only been available for a relatively short time. If an annual shot is required, that's no worse than the Flu shot anyway. :) |

The rush to get a vaccine doesn't mean that they aren't safe (they are safe) It just means that they aren't as effective as we would like them to be. My expectation is that at this stage we will need annual booster shots. Over time we will get better vaccinations and the virus will weaken until it becomes just part of the regular flu season |

It will be like the FLU shots. The primary reason for a yearly FLU shot is not about if you are still protected because the returning Flu has evolved so much that it is a different strain of the Flu and the current vaccine is less effective if at all against the new version. We already have a dozen or so strains of this corvid Virus and it would be surprising to not find a very significantly different virus in 12 months. The problem here is that it does not really have an off season like a FLU virus so multiple strains will likely all co exist and intermingle all with a significantly higher R0 value. Not a pretty picture - take your yearly vaccine if you can get it and be very happy for any protection you can get. |

Even three months effectiveness will go a very long way to breaking the infection cycle. This virus is here to stay, all we can do is control the level of infection. But as time goes on other more effective vaccines will no doubt appear.

Yes but the media are acting as though you get vaccinated and your safe for ever. Why aren't people being told it only protects for months. Its not for ever......! |

No they aren't, several media outlets have said we may need annual booster shots Several have also said that more effective vaccines will become available in due course You just haven't been listening because of your conspiracy theory tunnel vision |

Well Barney I've never heard them say the vaccine only protects for a few months or that in the future we will have stronger ones. And I do listen to the news with an open mind. Media is acting as though you get the jab and the job is finished as far as I'm concerned. |

I've heard lots of bad reactions from people in the UK. Both the Oxford AstraZeneca (?) and the Pfizer ones. Mostly aches and pains in the arm.

You've heard lots of bad reactions? Any evidence to back that up or is it just heresay? temporary aches and pains aren't a "bad reaction" |
