Hmm, I already have the CovidSAFE and SafeWA apps on my phone and here in WA you are required to sign in with the SafeWA app (or use pen and paper if you don't have a smartphone) at every single business you go to these days.

Now we are going to have yet another government app on our phones (or paper equivalent) which will no doubt be required to go almost anywhere outside your home eventually.

For some reason, this keeps coming to mind:

Your papers, please

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Your_papers,_please

Quote:
"Your papers, please" (or "Papers, please") is an expression or trope associated with police state functionaries, allegedly popularized in Hollywood movies featuring Nazi Party officials demanding identification from citizens during random stops or at checkpoints. It is a cultural metaphor for life in a police state.

I'm also curious about the incredible speed that these COVID apps, etc. have been set up by governments - both State and Federal yet when it comes to things like helping the homeless and the unemployed they move at their regular snails pace (if they even move at all).

I think the narrative will run something like this

When you attend your vaccination site you will be asked to fill in some paperwork so as to obtain a valid consent for the vaccination

So a nurse will ask you

Do you wish to have this vaccination

And she will then be sitting there with a pen and I little box that says yes

If you say no I am here because my employer insists I have the vaccination

She will refuse to tick the little box

And she will say unto you

That is not valid consent

Please remove yourself from the premises

Nothing is simple when the public service run it.

But I could not see them using a piece of paper for this

I think there will be some sort of government website where all the details are stored

And they will be responsible for it's security and updating

and probably the people doing the vaccinations will have a password so they can access it and see what people have had or not had

It will probably be part of the Australian vaccination register
Which is accessible to all
Medical practices hospitals pharmacies day care centres and schools
And of course is linked to Centrelink for things like family tax benefit
And they will probably link it to your my health record as well

In a way kovid is a good way to push
Digital health

And we certainly know that the various software & information technology companies
Are loving the covid situation

Nothing has driven technological change  like working from home etcetera
As much as this crisis

I think the figure is 82% of office space in New York is currently empty
And a lot of those people will probably demand the right to continue working from home indefinitely
Big changes on the way

In Melbourne... any entry to a place requires that time to “sign in” with mobile phone over the security code... those that don’t have a smart phone are asked to write their details in a book.

I wonder how long we have to keep doing this for?

It will probably be for the next 12 months, at least.

I've gotten into a 'routine' with my mobile phone now... because it is prepaid and I have no monthly data allowance I have to turn mobile data on, sign in with the SafeWA app and then turn mobile data off again otherwise my prepaid credit will slowly drop down to zero because of all the Android apps (Google, etc.) that want to update themselves as soon as they "see" an internet connection (even though I've tried to restrict their data use as much as possible).

Practice makes perfect, as they say. :)

In QLD, in larger venues - actual printed sign in is no longer acceptable ........ you have to sign in electronically.

Either by smart phone or the establishment has to provide a "tablet"(ipad etc) & have someone on the door to instruct or perform the sign in for those not tech savvy/elderly.

Using the camera on a smart phone takes seconds.

So what if having the jab is a condition of employment?

So are many other requirements.

Is that a breach of your civil liberties?

Is it part of mass control?

That's what I think WW is saying in reference to it.

Because the vaccine only lasts a few months that is protection.

So will we have to take this jab every 3 or 4 months.

I’ve noticed now..as I go out and about.... that many are not wearing masks anymore...it seems a choice now... no one is batting an eyelid about it.
I read on the government site that it’s still to be worn in shopping centres, public transport, hospitals, and crowded areas where social distancing can’t be done... yet... at a restaurant recently, waiting in line with a herd of other people all close together (aka not 1.5 m apart)... hubby and I were the only ones wearing masks.
It’s becoming confusing and people are becoming complacent.
I will keep choosing to wear a mask...
Because one thing was clear... last year, during lockdown, social distancing, mandatory masks, and lots of hygiene solutions on hand... I never caught a cold, sniffle, flu, and that’s a miracle for me as every year I always seem to get the flu!
Even though I fight it off good and it’s duration is shorter than average, it still knocks me about feeling like crap.

So if I continue to wear a mask in public...and use hand sanitizer ... this year... I want to see if I can avoid a cold or flu/sore throat etc.

To be continued....

If you sneeze or cough, your mucus stays in your mask, not sprayed over a big area. Not wearing a mask is selfishness.

that would certainly be the business model pfizer and astra zeneca are aiming at.
i see even johnson and johnson have a vaccine.
johnson and johsnon just settled a multi billion dollar lawsuit for faulty breast implants.

no bonuses for the executives and so no chance to go out on the yachts with their mistresses.

but you cannot sue over a vaccine.

not for 1 cent.

its the law.

so if they can engineer a vaccine that you have to have once a year (twice would be better), they would be negligent to their mistresses if they allowed a 5 or 10 yr or (god forbid) lifetime vaccine to be produced.

that would be fiscally irresponsible to their shareholders.

you now have a worldwide captive audience who will be paying thru their taxes to buy your product on a never ending basis with no finaincial risk.

this is a better business model then apple !!.

its like the government said

"you must update your apple i phone every 6 months or every year to participate in society. oh and by the way, if your iphone explodes and blows your leg off, tough titties, apple are a protected company"

wow

there is crony capitalism and this takes it to a whole new level

NSW is nearly 50 days with no community transmissions. You could say that NSW is essentially Rona free so absolutely no need for masks. If the Govt were to be bloody minded and insist on them, there would be a mask backlash. Better to go mask free then if somehow there's an outbreak they can then say there's an actual reason for them. I think they're still mandatory on public transport??

I thought Asians were odd wearing masks in the past... but now I don’t blame them.

Oh another area I forgot to mention where masks are mandatory are at airports and in planes.

Which is fine, but mandating it when there is no medical evidence to support it is counterproductive for times when there is a need.

BTW, I had a very light head cold last week, I wore one in the shops.

Not very one is considerate like that.
If all people were, then the rest of us would not catch colds in droves.

Another reason I don’t mind wearing a mask... I find there are certain chemical perfumes/after shaves people wear, and certain plants that create an allergic reaction in me... maybe I’m just getting more sensitive as I age... they used to call those sort of reactions “20th century syndrome”

Certain large shopping centres with air conditioning affect me too, and stores with lots of new items and I can smell all sorts of chemicals.
I tend to like shopping with stores that are on streets with doors open with fresh air circulating.

;D Anti-vaxxer conspiracy theory 101

There are many things you need to do as a qualification for employment.

Conspiracy theory?

How   :-/

So what if having the jab is a condition of employment?

So are many other requirements.

Is that a breach of your civil liberties?

Is it part of mass control?

That's what I think WW is saying in reference to it.

Seems you missed the part where it says, could the employer be held responsible for damages?

Because the pharma company can't be.
