Title: Videos
Post by greggerypeccary on Feb 10th, 2021 at 10:30am

I can't see YouTube videos in this forum any more.

Is it just me, or are others experiencing the same thing?

No problem for me to see the videos.
I'm using Mozilla Firefox as my browser.

Okay, thanks.

I use Chrome OS and Browser.

It's always worked fine up until yesterday.

Now I just see a blank spot where the video should be.

Strange.

I tried Internet Explorer and the videos don't work.
It says something about Adobe Flash player.

The same problem exists at PA. Can only see YouTube if you are using Firefox.  Blank with the other browsers.

I had to uninstall Adobe flash player.
Now the videos on this site still work with Firefox
but I get a blank box for each video
if I use Internet Explorer.

Just checked polanimal -
the videos don't work using IE  there either.
They work with Firefox.

I can see it using Mozilla Firefox (latest version 85.0.2).

"Blood"

I can't see it using the new Chromium Edge in Windows 10 though. Just a blank space (see attached image).

Can't see the video with Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10 either... just the same blank result as Edge.

Yeah, pretty weird, Chrome no longer displays videos but Firefox works fine for me.  :-?

Chrome/Chromium is a lot stricter on content. The problems with video not showing is that the video links are not https, therefore insecure. A secure connection with insecure links means broken security. This can be overcome.
