I prefer a visible means of support, myself.

In built structures too.

It is an aged structure now, but one of my all time favourites.....

Why would anyone bother with cantilevers it makes the building far more expensive to build with material costs.

Simply supported beams are cheaper and less hassle long term.

I would take sandstone steel timber and glass over any of those pics.

Thinking of something like this for a weekend cabin. Flat roof allows efficient solar and water collection.
