If Light chooses not to post here, or even on these forums, that's up to him. But he doesn't need to make excuses through you that it's because he can't not because he's sulking and doesn't want to.

The fringe will be here for anyone who wants to post.

But these days with conspiratorial thinking becoming mainstreams to build a political case of support for a given politician, the fringe topics are finding their way all over this place rather than here.

This forum had become a sort of safe space, not for Light but for everyone else, an asylum almost, to keep the craziest of Light's theories out of sight and out of mind.

It's a shame because I love the topic of this forum, but his idea of what "evidence" just made talking about some of the things he'd post about worse than pulling teeth.

I did setup some Google alerts to see what was being said elsewhere about it, I forgot about it until it pinged him on the other site.

I've since disabled them, but it's interesting that he'd lie about not being here and the reasons why, no matter how creepy the information came to light.

The Trump rule, after all, it's not about how you get the information, or how many laws you have to break to get it, but it's the information that is important, right?

I love fringe topics, but I dislike lies or claimed statements of fact that have no basis in reality or evidence to lead anyone to such a conclusion.

Have all the opinions you like, I even enjoy talking about them, but doing things like claiming Hillary Clinton's arsehole is so loose because she's a whore that she leaked poo onto her dress and proving that with photoshopped images that are easily provable as fake, we're going to have a bad time.

It's these instances that those like you Light will push those who are standing up for the truth and exposing your lies that you will go on the offensive and attack them, spam them all to get a reaction out of them that you can then continue to repost pretending to be a victim of abuse, all to avoid admitting you're pushing out fake news.

That's the kind of filth you are.

60 Minutes says far stronger words that I did.

The predictions about the coronavirus catastrophe grow more ominous by the day, and despite the best efforts of countries like Australia in enacting emergency action plans to contain the disease, its spread continues at a worrying rate. Even the World Health Organisation forecasts a world of pain. It says the virus poses a greater global threat than terrorism. That's bad enough, but medical experts tell 60 MINUTES it's actually even more terrifying.

45 million people dead refers to a 1% death rate
from 7.5 billion people with a 60% rate of
them contracting the virus.

A 3.4% death rate equals153 million people dead.

Therefore I stand by my opinion.

That sounds like doom to me.

Would you have banned Sad Kangaroo straight away from Fringe, if you had become Mod?
You were both worthy participants and SK just pipped you at the line.
I'm sure you can still become a great contributer to the Board regardless of SK.

A lot of people didn't want Brian as Defence MOD, but things just go in and they still post there.

The first thing I did was reach out to light to see what changes he would like to see, if any, in the Fringe.

He ignored the PM and left the forum.

The Fringe is now used for legitimate fringe topics, not just straight-up crazy musings posted by Light, he's taken that to another forum where they consider his posts "real".

You're welcome back whenever you want light, you can even reply after all these months to the PM. I'm happy to work with all the participants of the Fringe.

I read a book several years ago by controversial physicist Paul LaViolette. Who has his PhD in electrokinetics.

He said "give me 500 million, 200 scientists and engineers and I will build a spaceship to get you to Alpha Centauri in 2 weeks". Wow!

Electrokinetics is a physics phenomenon first discovered by a student almost 100 years ago by the name TT Brown. He discovered that a non linear capacitor charged to a high voltage developed a thrust so small as to be almost unmeasurable. A reaction-less thrust which appeared to violate Newtons laws.

Light, I don't think even to this day, understands the difference between an opinion and a fact. Everything he believed or thinks is true, in his world IS true. No evidence is needed to decide and no evidence will change his mind.

This is a foolish and backwards way of thinking.

The truth is important, but even in the fringe, this forum exists for the no-mans land of where the truth and the unknown meet.

If we (as humanity, not those of us on the forum) don't stop looking across the boundary of what we know into the unknown our learning stops.

But the only thing worse than not seeking answers is accepting answers that are unproven. That's not learning and that's not discovery.

That's playacting the weak-minded who to their credit have the desire to explore and find out more, but not the capability to deal with not yet having all the answers. It's a form of weakness, one that is sadly the driving force for people like Light.

This leads people down the path of being unable to tell facts from conspiracies.

In some cases it can be a weakness overcome, in others, it just leads people to find less conflict to their ideas seeking out more friendly echo chambers filled with others like them who not only need answers but know the answers they already want.

The Fringe to me is where we can all talk about the things we don't know and propose possible explanations and discuss their merits.

The UFO footage could be showing Alien spacecraft on earth. But to say it IS Alien because you can't explain it, well that doesn't lead us to answers but worse stops us looking.

It's a failure all too common in the Fringe.

I won't stop anyone discussing anything here. I may add my opinion as to the quality of the evidence leading to a conclusion but that's it.

I think Light was a bit bruised by just loosing out to SK by the most minimal of margins in a really good Mod shootout by both. Probably the best the Forum has had in a long time. Both were obviously worthy of the Mod position.
