Born: 3 January 2003 (age 16 years).
October 9, 2012, 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban. Aug 7, 2016 - After coming upon a drowning kitten, the Italian Coast Guard gave the creature CPR and brought it back to life. It was a young female so they chucked it back. |

Greta might be pathetic in her weaknesses.
But at least they are heading in the right direction, when past generations like that Professor - had got it all wrong for so long. Wonder what would happen if a 'Boy' rose up like Greta like some Muad'Dib as foretold in the novel Dune. ...beware, a lot of 'Sci-Fi', etc - eventually becomes a 'reality'. ;) |

"Its members have a pathological need to be coddled and protected from the challenging realities of life.
Your generation is the biggest demander and consumer of carbon spewing technological gadgets and devices. An hour without any of them and too many of you succumb to paralyzing lethargy." Now what was it... flower power..make love not war..high on grass.. sit-in against Agent orange to protect the forests.. ? |

The best way to we have found in the last 50 years to plant lots of trees is to make people rich
Once market capitalism moves into a country and the people standard of living rises they stop chopping down all the trees and killing all the native animals just so they don't starve Indonesia has greatly slow down the rate at which it chops down trees now that the noble capitalists are running successful businesses China has way more trees now than it did 30 years ago thanks to market capitalism Once people have some spare cash thanks for the wonderful capitalists they start to care about the environment Obviously in Africa where do people have not yet had the benefit of marvellous noble capitalism They are still willing to hunt rhinoceros for tusks add to chop down trees for fuel because they have to survive somehow Once we can reach them connect them to the electricity grid Connect them to fresh running water They will stop catching every fish killing every animal and burning every tree Once the marvellous pharmaceutical companies move-in and provide contraception The the birth rate will drop and the environment will recover The the rivers of Germany France and England we're polluted cesspits 50 years ago Now thanks to the wonderful wealth created by capitalism they are full of fish If Greta really wants to help the environment She should start a business Listed on the stock exchange And move her business to Africa The absolute worst thing greenies can do Is to try and slow economic development That's really harsh on the environment Poor people do crazy things like dynamite reefs for fish We need to make everybody rich Greta should be out there creating wealth Not creating moral panic |

Parliament House site covers 80 acres . Holes will be dug and trees placed in them with roots pointing downwards in state-of-the-art best practice. The flagpole weighs 250 tonnes and is made of recycled budget papers and rubbery numbers.

Title: Re: scathing 'open letter' to Greta Thunberg Post by lee on Dec 19th, 2019 at 2:05pm
That 80 acres would take about 72,200 trees at 3 metre spacing. ;)

wot's understorey? The 'lawn' is bare earth . Australia is an island south of Port Moresby and has a '"drought" or lack of rain. Trees use water which comes from rain , or water droplets which fall out of the air (it's true!).

Lee has confused random with chimera. ( easily done, similar spelling).
Humans live for zonks. "Unintentional injury and homicide were the leading causes of death among residents ages 15–24, each accounting for 34.2% and 32.9%, respectively, of all deaths. These were followed by suicide (9.9%) and cancer (5.8%)." Gum trees live a long time. They are dying at age 20 years. 20 is fingers of both hands and then again. This is because they are thirsty. You know thirsty. Drinky. |

That's pretty rich coming from lee who has relentlessly trolled my posts over the past few years. Randoms right though lee, the vast time and effort you have put into trying to discredit every single global warming thread that has been posted on this forum over the past few years. You should be on at least $50,000 a year from the IPA. any less than that and you are being ripped off ;) |

pretty much every post I've made about climate change you have responded to. Even when my posts are directed at other people. My retreating glaciers thread is evidence of that Took you a couple of hours to respond this time. Has the IPA got you doing some other work for them? ;) |
