Your problem has always been that you take any suggestion of an alternative viewpoint of a situation, aka a conspiracy theory, and immediately run with it being a factual account of what happened when not only is there no evidence to support it, but there is plenty of evidence to debunk it, such as the case with Chemtrails, Flat Earth, Vaccinations etc etc.

You're not discussing the possibility of it being true, you're telling people it is true, attacking those who don't agree, accusing them of being child pornographers or pedophiles and making one-way demands for things you have no intention of contributing in return.

If you're not trolling, it's at least toxic behaviour that doesn't surprise me one bit has got you in trouble in this and other areas of these forums.

The time for you playing all innocent and the victim of others, or even the victim of a wider plot that ties into a grander conspiracy to silence your version of the truth, the time for that has long past.  You've proven the type of poster you are.

I enjoyed the fringe and reading about ideas around alien contact and finding questions that we seemingly didn't have answers for.  Seeking those answers is definitely entertaining.  But when every answer you put forward, not for discussion but "if you don't believe this you're stupid" (only you would use the wrong "your") which then ignites flame wars you're all to happy to stoke by finding the most likely answers, dismissing them and choosing a conspiracy that is their opposite, it takes all the fun out of things.

But as others have suggested, if you'll stop using those tactics elsewhere on the forum and keep it contained to the Fringe and the Fringe only, giving the rest of us some well overdue relief, then yes, I'd vote for you as mod.

I used to like sharing ideas here, but you can agree with someone 90% of the time on here, but it's that 10% that you don't agree, or even have different ideas on how to achieve the same end, that 10% is the only thing people bother to talk about here.

I posted in a thread supporting the idea of Hydrogen as a fuel source, but I questioned the OPs idea that it was already a viable alternative to classic combustion, but it simply isn't.  Now that poster, Juliar, has a hate boner for me and no matter what I do or say, I'm a HATE FILLED GREENY, because I actually agreed with him/her, but injected some facts into the conversation he didn't like.

That 10% that is the only focus these days, it's not about exchanging ideas.  It's about people demanding proof for whatever claim is being "debated" (which I use that term loosely), making up proof or taking something mildly related, interpreting it in a way that allows the poster to draw a wildly inaccurate conclusion, supporting their opinion as "proof" or they just attack the other poster with insults or use whatever troll tactics possible to "run out the clock" either by spamming away the question, hiding behind user quotes or just spamming more posts/images/questions of their own until people forget.

There is no exchange of ideas...  People only get further entrenched in their views, or in the case of some weak minded folks here, they get further duped by conspiracy nonsense.

You match that with so many who I would label Trump supporters who just want to troll for liberal tears and just a giant poo show.

What is the point of bringing reasoned and researched replies to the table when the other posters just throw poo everywhere?

Some of those who humour posters like Light because he distracts those who would challenge their views are almost worse than him for enabling him.  They know what should pass as a good faith discussion, but they're not interested in challenging their own views either.

Not that we needed any further proof, but someone who posts like Light deserves no power what so ever.  His conduct on here as a regular poster is bad enough.

But, while a disease like him can't be cured should of a well-deserved ban (which won't happen given he gets views which equates to ad revenue), perhaps the allure of power might quarantine him to the padded walls of the Fringe?

We don't know that for sure.

What we do know is that the thread reporting his actions vanished preceding his lengthy disappearance.  A disappearance claimed to be due to him driving trucks, an explanation we got from one of those posters mentioned that are suspiciously like him, with similar login and activity time, claiming to have got a personal email from Light just checking in.

I guess the Internet connection he was on blocked the forum but still allowed emails and instant messaging, it wasn't that his main account was banned.  No, surely not.

Now, none of that is "proof", but it's all very suspect.

If I were Light, god forbid, that would be MORE THAN ENOUGH evidence to claim whatever point I was trying to make, but alas, I'm not going to bullshit and pretend that it is.

I personally don't want to go down that path again with Light and his accusations.  It's been done to death, he's been caught red-handed and seemingly paid the consequences for it.  Sure he still disputes it demanding a quote of him directly accusing other of being a pedophile in very specific language and without that it didn't happen, but the real world is not that black and white.

I've been active in the Fringe for a long time, it just got ruined so I didn't frequent it as much as I used to, mainly because of a lack of moderation.

I really do enjoy conspiracy theories which are right at home here.  Just because I might not agree with every single one doesn't mean the topics aren't of great interest.

Take 9/11, everyone has their theory.  I don't agree with most because mine, the version that I think is the most plausible is the US was in fact caught with their pants down and these terrorists were actually successful in committing their atrocities.  To cover up that embarrassing dereliction of duty to the people, the government themselves planted the seeds to all these conspiracies to get people away from talking about what they did and focusing on it being an inside job, or it was a missile that hit the pentagon or blah blah.

That means those who think it was an inside job immediately attack me as being a paid shill and I might as well, in their eyes, have said there was no conspiracy and they were crazy.

This forum is more about attacking the 10% of differing views than celebrating the 90% that are alike, and it gets very personal very fast.

What about Aliens?  While I haven't seen anything that can only be explained by "Aliens did it", I find it equally as hard to believe that our tiny tiny tiny corner of the universe is the only place that has accidentally created life or we're even the first type of life to reach "intelligence".

The universe is vast and the more we learn the more we realise we don't know.

We're made up of the most abundant elements in the universe, surely life must exist elsewhere.  The search for that life is exciting.

Even the conspiracy theories about governments hiding our first contact, Men In Black style are fun.

But making blanket statement that "this video shows proof that these crop circles were made by aliens", come on... That's not "proof", it's a grainy suspect youtube video with the comments disabled intimating facts by asking questions in the title hoping the viewer will answer with "Yes!".

That said, the place for all of that whether you agree with the conclusion of it or the answers to the question is the Fringe.  Not spread around all over the forum at large.  But there is no reason all of this can't also be grounded in reality.

A moderator doesn't need to be the lead contributor.  In fact, if you're interested in a fair and balanced touch to moderation, it's better that they're not invested heavily in the topics to begin with.

I just hope, whoever of us gets the tap on the shoulder, this place won't change much, there will just be someone here to rein things in if it gets a little too rowdy.
