Just saw Albos speech. I've always thought he was a decent bloke but his speech was full of sour grapes.
Hope he's leader, Libs will win again :) |

Think Anthony Albanese had being talking about retirement for a while now. I am not sure about Tanya or Penny Wong. I think may be Chris Bowen.

Lot of crowing going on - haven't seen anything substantive about who 'won' yet.... last I saw neither would make a majority - again...

I really think Labor needs to come up with someone who has a clean slate.
Someone like Jason Clare? Tanya would be popular, as would Albo but they have been around too long and are tainted with all the crap that has plagued Labor for the last decade or so. One thing that was proven correct yet again last night was that a party with a leader who cannot score 40% or better as Preferred PM will NOT win an election in this country. |

better if they just fold
they look, sound and think like second rate losers if they intend to stick around, they need a GIANT, not another weedy, uninspiring pretence of 'opposition' shorten in particular has always seemed to me as if he's paid to make LNP look good |

I'd go as far as to say that that is what lost it for them. People are fed up. Like I've been saying for months, I don't know where this so called popularity is coming from for this crap to be in our schools but it is not from the general pop. Not one person I have spoken to agrees that this garbage should be in our schools. In fact, everyone agreed with me when I said these people need help. Labor didn't listen to the people. People don't want getup. They don't want LG to in our schools. Old shortdikk should have asked the people, not be puppeteered by some globalist bullshyte. Just look at how globalism is going overseas. Riots everywhere. Australia doesn't need that. Not over a bunch of losers who want to introduce sexual fetishes to our already failing education system. Shoulda listened labor....owell. |

Repeat,
I find Tany wishy washy who occasionally mumbles and am not fussed on Albo as leader either (Dont mind him as a bloke however) Will have to think long and hard as I am a Labor Party member and will get a vote on this. |

I recommend Jason Clare. Young, bit of oomph, untainted (in the main) super safe seat. Effective communicator. 8-) Someone "new", someone the electorate has not already prejudged. If the Labor fools pick Chris Bowen, they deserve to lose again. :D Albo is popular but tainted, so too Tanya. :( Time for truly fresh start. They can win next time with a popular effective leader. 8-) Just do it! |

Title: Re: New Labor leader? Post by Captain Nemo on May 19th, 2019 at 1:56pm
Albo has announced he is running for Labor leader.
He fits 2 of the 3 criteria: popular; effective. BUT he does not fit the 3rd criteria: Untainted. They have to go for someone new. |

the dimples and high foreheads are the only similarity. That hardly makes them twins. One has a round chin, the other pointed. One an elongated head, the other more round. Bills ears point inwards at the top, the other guys out. Ones ear lobes hang out, the other doesn't. One has a long nose, one doesn't. Ones upper lip curls up when he smiles, the other doesn't. like i said, you don't know what twins, or even 'in the ballpark, are. |

|
Title: Re: New Labor leader? Post by matty on May 19th, 2019 at 8:59pm
There are only two candidates who I see as having any decency and any chance of successfully leading Labor: Richard Marles and Jim Chalmers. I don’t know that either have enough recognition and profile yet though.
Bowen - bumbling idiot. Albanese - sure, can connect to the common man but can’t articulate and too aligned to the left. Plibersek - represents everything wrong with the modern ALP. Inner-city wealthy yuppie, nowhere near the blue-collar worker of Labor’s traditional but appearingly dwindling base. |

I hope that she does, or Bowen. That would guarantee a fourth term for the Coalition. |
