Post by Frank on Feb 8th, 2019 at 8:46pm
A Shorten government will destroy Australia. It started with Rudd Gillard, there has been a feeble hiatus but when Bill gets in it will be a destruction of Australia.

Shorten is the macron/merkel/saunders/clinton candidate Reject him.

Bit late for that, isn't it?  Country's on its knees and falling into the trap of embracing Third World status in every way the fools at the top can think of.  All those years of blood, sweat and tears from MEN for this....

With Frank leaving Australia due to his "fears", that will be one less voter that will vote for Coalition that would definitely destroy Australia.

Australia is stuffed because we've had the libs in govt. for most of the last 20 years. Labor needs to stay in govt. for 3 or 4 terms to start to swing things around.

They were even poor winners. Then they found out that with Abbott, Turnbull and SoLow that they hadn't won anything.

Smell the Fear!!!!!!     One of the only reasons Shorten and Labor will get in is the incompetence of the Coalition.   Had they done what Abbott promised, Turnbull promised and squeaky ScoMo promised, Labor would not have a chance.     You have been well and truely hoisted by your own petard.

AUSTRALIANS       ....have been destroying Australia, for many decades.

It is the people, and it is the culture of a people,         which defines the character of any nation.

[in years past, many Australians would try to hide their shameful acts.       today we see many shameful acts being performed publicly, proudly.]

Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Australia was ruined from the Hawke Keating government when they opened the flood gates to the oligarchy, globalization and free trade.

And every government since after those two traitors.

Hang em higher.

Send em all on a taxpayer funded excursion to Yemen so they can  have a  first hand look at the type of culture these traitors are bringing to our shores.

Josh Frydenberg said yesterday the cities are bursting at the seams and he plans to start sending them to regional areas where resources are already stretched to the limit and the bad roads are killing people.
Well at least it will give the youngsters something to do,, form gangs and fight.  We don't want them here.

When this election campaign ramps up it will be all about immigration.

Simple solution, STOP IMMIGRATION.

We should have stopped immigration 200 years ago....Unless you are an Aboriginal you are a migrant or the descendant of a migrant....Australia's relies on immigration to maintain growth and replenish our aging workforce....The racist bigots have no idea and would defend their right to discriminate against anyone who is not of the same ilk....Racism and bigotry should not be tolerated in Australia!!!

So you're in favour of foreign workers being imported here to under cut Australian workers.

Or our jobs going offshore...!

You're in favour of keeping the immigration intake at this level to appease the oligarchies thirst for an ever growing economy.

And so many other instructions that get handed to governments around the world at G20 and G8 etc etc meetings.

These policies are the oligarchies policies, I hope you know that.

It that what you want, Australia to be a vassal of the oligarchy....??

What the hell why have elections then.

Lets just vote in the oligarchy to rule us as they see fit.

I'm sure your life would be better off under them.... :D

And it drives down wages while making business owners a load of money. And because migrants are over represented in not joining unions they'll do whatever the boss wants without complaining. I can see why business owners love cheap third world labour. It's undoing everything that was built on through years of struggle for workers rights.

I'm not blaming migrants. They are doing what's best for them. I'm highlighting the reason why the elite love cheap 3rd world labour. Both Labor and Liberal elite. Multiculturalism doesn't benefit the blue collar white Australian worker at all. Only the rich. All that happens for the white working class is that their streets become congested and the workplace become increasingly intolerable. In Sydney where I live it's great if you give orders but for a ordinary worker the workplace is a hyper competitive environment full of bullying and decreasing basic workers rights.

Started in the  1940's - 1950's if not earlier. Hard to see how Hawke and Keating caused that.

I don't disagree. It would be nice to go back to the 1960's but I don't see it happening and I don't think many other than us who would like it.

Weekend penalties were no problem because almost nobody worked on week ends etc. No shopping at night either.

I don't know if people have developed a lower moral base line or are now more willing to display it. People always looked after themselves but it was less acceptable and possibly risky in some areas.

A recession is coming I tells ya.   :o

All that happens for the white working class is that their streets become congested and the workplace become increasingly intolerable. In Sydney where I live it's great if you give orders but for a ordinary worker the workplace is a hyper competitive environment full of bullying and decreasing basic workers rights.

Your real reasons for hammering immigration is obvious....What difference does it make what colour the person is who is being exploited by the Coalition and business???

:-? :-? :-?
It doesn't. It's just that 3rd world people are easier to exploit because they have no safety net and poorer educational standards.

It is still employers who are breaking the law to exploit people....Educate yourself and see what happens when you ban migration!!!

So you want a servant you can sexually exploit. That's very leftist of you. But I admire your honesty. You should go to the Philippines to trawl a slum for a good desperate young women. They'll do anything for a visa. Even suck your little Italian c*ck.

However, it will be at least 6 years before the Libs can get back in, given the size of the expected swing about to happen.

How does that sort out an aging population problem. As the population ages it leaves a smaller proportion of the population of working age.

1977 - people over 65 = 9%
2017 - people over 65 = 15%
2077 - people over 65 = 24%

How is a comparatively smaller population going to produce all of the goods and services for the entire population.

We could:

Extend the retirement age. Nobody likes that idea.
Euthanise old people. Can't see that.
Shag more. Good luck but a lot of shagging needed
Increase productivity. It's been declining for 20 years and no end in sight.
Import people. The Neanderthals don't like that idea either.

Sweden is having their own problems with immigration as is the rest of Europe, so I wont bother them.

Stop immigration until infrastructure catches up and don't just push them out into the underprepared regional areas.

We should be the richest country on earth, we have everything in abundance. We should all be living like kings and retiring at 40, mismanagement and sellout is crippling us and mass immigration is not the answer.

If Australia elects him then it will elect its own Merkel/Macron/Soros government that will do irreparable damage to Australia. Recovering from Rudd/Gillard has not happened because the Libs are almost as stupid and destructive as Labor.

I agree that it is unlikely for Shorten to be as good as Rudd Gillard (Swan).

However there is no doubt that the Lib Trio have failed that same test.

IMO the Shorten government if elected will depend on the team for their economic performance. There is at least a reasonable prospect of them being far superior to the current Liberals.

The riskier prospect is them being about the same as the current Libs - that would be a failure but no worse off than election Slo mo for another term.

In this case maintaining the status quo (the Libs) means rewarding failure and expecting more of the same.

I still miss Gillard.

Best PM we've had for quite a while.

Yeah, best looking PM but nothing else.

She achieved a great deal.

If she was PM now, we'd be in a much, much better place.

I reckon we would we would be up the creek without a paddle, no offence. I would have rooted her in her day, maybe even now.

What plan would you have in place for the aging population conundrum. Walk the plank at 70 perhaps.

The population of Hobart is flooding into Australia every year with minimal infrastructure allowances, Morrison said he would build a new road yesterday so that may alleviate the problem, better still just send them out into the regional areas.

We should decide who comes here and how many of them, not the bipartisan bitches in cahoots.

We are full until further notice.

How does that sort out an aging population problem. As the population ages it leaves a smaller proportion of the population of working age.

1977 - people over 65 = 9%
2017 - people over 65 = 15%
2077 - people over 65 = 24%

How is a comparatively smaller population going to produce all of the goods and services for the entire population.

We could:

Extend the retirement age. Nobody likes that idea.
Euthanise old people. Can't see that.
Shag more. Good luck but a lot of shagging needed
Increase productivity. It's been declining for 20 years and no end in sight.
Import people. The Neanderthals don't like that idea either.

If you have any other ideas, forward them to Sweden for your Nobel prize.

Unfortunately that doesn't address the central issue. How does a smaller comparative labour force produce increased output. Every way you look at the problem you will find that you will need more physical labour to actually produce the goods and services for the consumers as the number of non labour participants grows. Cutting immigration until a few boondongles are built exacerbates a problem that is more serious than realised.

I think not. I see that you are still unable to answer a vexing but rather simple question. That being, how does a comparitively smaller labour force deal with the production requirements of everybody. It isn't difficult to understand.

Stop rationing jobs. People who want to work should be allowed to do so. We don't have a labour shortage in Australia, we have a chronic jobs shortage. Start by banning unpaid overtime, abolishing all forms of slavery and implementing a job guarantee.

Automation of some current jobs is coming. This will account for any future shrinking of the workforce.

Cut the cost of living by decentralising jobs. It's stupid how we're trying to cram half Australia's population into less than one percent of the landmass while rural towns are dying.

Shorten's unbridled grab for retiree's incomes with the 'franking business' on company tax

This will rip around $5,000 (average) out of modest incomes that retirees, people on modest incomes who have provided for their own retirement, receive

This comes from interest from their incomes on invested funds, the average sum is $400,000

By doing this these retirees save the community from providing them with aged pensions

With his wrecking ball approach, which in no way punishes the wealthy.  Shorten is going to encourage people who have saved for their retirement to  go and blow their money then put their hands out for the Government  for a pension

Is this in the interests of the Country...NO!  It is downright irresponsible  and will create a future enormous drain on the economy

While this area is grey as well as dependant on static investments there is also the point that investment under 850,000 are entitled to part pensions and any reduction in the income results in an increase in that part pension.

The way I see it is that if having an investment with pre paid tax becomes an disincentive the option to not take that type of investment will be made available.

People will simply re gear their investments. If the tax isn't paid there is no need to refund it and the income is still below the taxable level.

Don't get me wrong I think this change is incredibly stupid, just that I doubt in the end it will make much difference to smart people.

None of that matters. The greatest burden falls to labour so you're paying for it anyway while the owners of the capital pay less.

You've not been watching very closely when the Abbott-Turnbull-Morrison government have tried cutting the aged pension in various ways in every single Budget they've handed down. I have not seen any government that has been so hostile to aged pensioners with cuts, cuts and more cuts.

And you think cutting back on the wealthfare of refundable franking credits is "irresponsible"? Hardly. What's irresponsible is leaving this largesse in the Budget, to grow and grow and grow, year on year, at rates greater than inflation, racking up more and more debt that has to be paid for by everyone else. It's not sustainable so it has to go eventually.

Labor's been quite responsible by giving plenty of advance notice. Not like the lying Abbott who specifically said "no change to pensions" before the 2013 election then unleashed a pile of horror cuts on pensioners in the 2014 Budget with no advance warning at all, and more in every Budget since under Abbott and Turnbull.

We've seriously buggered up retirement and pension incomes for retired Australians. It's ludicrous nonsense that retirees on part pensions lose 50 cents in the dollar for every extra dollar they earn, while retirees on far more generous incomes get to keep almost all of their tax-free income. It is blatantly unfair and it's time it was looked at.

A fairer system: abolish the means tests for the aged pension, abolish the tax breaks for self-funded retirees. Everyone of pension age gets the aged pension when they retire, with all the pension benefits, tax free. Any extra income is taxed normally (the first $18200 is not taxed due to the tax free threshold, etc.) This is still bloody generous; they would be earning over $40000 a year before paying any tax and getting a raft of concessions. It wouldn't cost any more than it costs now. The savings would accrue through lower administration costs. Yes there would be winners and losers, but that's normal when a taxation playing field is levelled.

That's three votes for sense... been pushing that exact line on the senior's forum for ages now - getting a few turned over to the Light Side....

Politicians won't come at this because it will chop their over-fat retirement packages.... they earned it, don' cha know?

we try to save $18k a year by not giving gine rhinehart the pension, and at the same time we allow her to have hundreds of thousands in income tax free because she has good accountants who know how to work the loopholes. Stuff that, give everyone the pension, then tax every single dollar over the threshold regardless of if it is in super funds, whether it's paid out as franked dividends, or whatever other scam they have going to avoid taxes..

Any extra income is taxed normally (the first $18200 is not taxed due to the tax free threshold, etc.)

I think it would save a few billion a year. If I understand it correctly, the tax breaks for self-funded retirees costs the Budget more than the aged pension they're not getting and this gap is increasing over time. These savings should be returned to the aged as some combination of a higher payment for the aged pension, more funding for aged care and more funding for health care for the aged.

The government would save money through lower administration costs. Annual tax returns are cheaper to administer than Centrelink's more frequent reporting.

Gina Rinehart 'pays more tax than any other Australian'

Iron ore magnate and company tax cut advocate Gina Rinehart says she is now Australia's single-biggest taxpayer after her private company reported a big jump in annual profit to $1.37 billion.
Hancock Prospecting's profits increased by 28 per cent in 2017-18 and it paid $860 million in federal and state taxes, up from $698 million last year.
The company's flagship $US10 billion ($14.05 billion) Roy Hill iron ore project in Western Australia was a big contributor as revenue increased from $4.45 billion to more than $6 billion.

Gina Rinehart credits Donald Trump for reviving the American economy by slashing corporate tax rates. Supplied
Hancock Prospecting has paid almost $5 billion in taxes over the past eight years and the company highlighted the contribution made by Mrs Rinehart in a statement accompanying the annual results.
"Mrs Gina Rinehart, personally and through HPPL (Hancock Prospecting) private group, pays more tax than any other Australian," it said.

"Mrs Rinehart continues to primarily direct investment into Australia and pays substantial taxation in Australia, while providing employment and opportunities for many thousands of Australians, directly and indirectly."
The daughter of iron ore industry trailblazer Lang Hancock regularly speaks out in favour of cuts in company taxes and red tape to boost the Australian economy.
She is also a fan of Donald Trump's tax policies and credits him for reviving the American economy by slashing the corporate tax rate from 35 per cent to 21 per cent.
Hancock Prospecting is yet to receive any dividends from Roy Hill, which achieved its 55 million tonne a year nameplate capacity in September last year, with cash flow from the project being used to pay down debt by about $800 million.
Legal battles
The three Hope Downs mines, subject to a partnership agreement with Rio Tinto that sees royalties flow to Hancock Prospecting, operated at or above nameplate capacity of 45 million tonnes.
Hancock Prospecting said the average iron ore price achieved was virtually unchanged on the previous year, with Roy Hill remaining immune from substantial discounting in the price of lower grades.
"The impact on ore produced by Roy Hill, which is priced on the higher 62 per cent index was much more limited, with Roy Hill continuing to achieve more than 90 per cent of the 62 per cent Platts index on average over the year," it said.
Mrs Rinehart's continuing legal battles with two of her four children and with the heirs of Lang Hancock's former business partner Peter Wright cast some shadow over the annual results.
Although Hancock Prospecting paid $191 million in dividends another additional $338 million was set side and payment delayed because of the dispute with her two eldest children, John Hancock and Bianca Rinehart, related to the Hope Margaret Hancock Trust.
The dispute is now in arbitration after action in the Federal Court but, in the meantime, Hancock Prospecting said under the terms of the deed it had increased the provision for unpaid dividends to $1.24 billion at September 30.
The annual results also refer to Supreme Court action by Wright Prospecting over royalties from the Hope Downs mining operations and for a part-ownership in mining tenements formerly known as East Angelas and now known as Hope Downs 4, 5 and 6.
Hancock Prospecting's Australian Outback Beef, the owner of the S. Kidman & Co cattle empire purchased for $387 million in late 2016, increased its revenue to $51.1 million with underlying next profit after tax of $10.1 million.
The company described itself as the most successful private mining and agriculture company in Australia's history and said it would continue to look at more acquisitions in those sectors.
It recently acquired junior miner Atlas Iron after staring down Andrew Forrest's Fortescue Metals Group, advanced the first $US250 million tranche of its investment in UK-based potash mine developer Sirius Minerals and paid about $69 million for a 19.9 per cent stake in Riversdale Resources, the owner of the Grassy Mountain hard coking coal project in Canada.
Hancock Prospecting said it was investing in exploration and evaluation of wholly owned iron ore projects and on future Hope Downs mines with joint venture partner Rio Tinto.

One thing everyone agrees on is that Shorten would be the WORST PM in AUSTRALIA's HISTORY.

Labor nearly ruined Australia during their last six sick years of Socialist waste and disgrace and shame.

Now they are preparing to finish the job.
