Title: Nationals leadership challenge part 3
Post by 56 44 on Dec 20th, 2018 at 8:32am
Acting Prime Minister and Nationals leader Michael McCormack has hit damage control as revelations he was aware of Andrew Broad’s “sugar baby” scandal for the past six weeks spark another leadership scare.

According to The Courier-Mail ($), McCormack hit the phones yesterday to shore up his leadership only to be reportedly told by some colleagues he had lost their support. Others in the Liberal Party are also allegedly plotting to convince the Nats to replace their leader, who reportedly knew aspects of Broad’s dalliances during the October leadership scare.

Meanwhile, McCormack has delivered a blistering interview with The Sydney Morning Herald in which he defended his handling of Broad’s scandal and slammed government leakers as both selfish and unfamiliar with “the cold, desolate days of opposition”.

Deary deary me,  division and scandal or as I call it just another day down the office at team Libtard

What a surprise, my familys known McCormack for nearly 25 years (he was in my hockey club back in Wagga). Essentially he's lucked into every job he's ever had. He was editor of the Wagga paper only because when the previous editor quit, no one applied to take the job. He then essentially lucked into  the safest Nats seat in the country and now he lucked into Deputy PM, when the previous officeholders penis couldnt stay in his pants.

Some people get promoted even above their level of competence.

He'll know those days soon enough. It's already too late to stop the rout, so a few leaks won't make much difference.

Barnaby must be licking his lips in anticipation of being asked to head the Nats again by it's worried membership.

Mot even the BBBBB would be considering it.  He'll be lucky to hold New England.

Which is a shame, personally I think there is a need for a strong Nationals style party in this country representing rural Australians and farmers, but it just seems to be a soft Libs style party with mining interests chucked in for good measure.

That Littleproud bloke would have a better chance than tomcat Barnaby, but they're not worth talking about, they sold rural Australia out to foreign multinationals, locals are left to fend for themselves

I'll tell you how useless they are, instead of fighting for a greater GST share for the bush, they're standing by and watching as local councils raise extra rates from ratepayers for basic things like road and footpath repairs. Councils are struggling and the National Party doesn't give a damn, something goes on in their heads, but I can't comprehend what it might be. And yet I see little old ladies selling their lamingtons for fund raising thinking they're getting the best politics ever when their children and grandchildren have already moved to the cities

The most likely candidate should she get endorsed and win in Mallee is Bridget McKenzie, the current Deputy to Mick Mack.

You are probably correct but she is guaranteed another 3 years in the Senate which is the easier way to get into parliament if you are top of the list.

Fighting for a seat in the HOR involves some risk!

I get the feeling she is not keen on it!

I was already convinced McCormack is a dead-man walking, and this latest revelation just confirms it. I assume the nats won't do anything until after the next election (when they'll hopefully have a lot less seats), but I don't rule out yet another act of suicide by these circus clowns.

...... our local member is a National  .... our council isn't struggling - they're as rapacious as any council can get..... gotta feed the exemplary super system they share with other politicians and public servants...
