Strange how there were no cries of outrage from you when Bill's future M-I-L was appointed under Labor.

How do you know? Also, were you in the Defence Forces when Hurley was CDF? He was a political bumlicker who put his own needs in front of the supposedly apolitical defence forces to further his own agendas. I will go as far as to say that the majority of the problems affecting the defence force in the areas of recruiting, retention and espirit de corps can be traced back to his leadership and his decision making. He was a piss poor CDF and he will be a piss poor GG |

So, I guess you have some evidence to support that broadside, beyond inter-service tribalism and petty jealousies? (Wasn't he appointed CDF by Labor?) |

Yeah - he was intoxicated with the idea of sheilas in the front lines.... :o ::) Gotta overcome the entrenched oppressive patriarchal male-dominated control over combat positions requiring guts (in or out), courage and strength... any 'general' with an eye on a future from the Guv has to toe City Hall's line in his batman-polished boots... A real man'd tell 'em to get stuffed and they will cost lives with their stupid social engineering. What a dork...... he might have worn the general's badges, but his wife held the Field Marshal's baton.. and apparently used it regularly... from his avowed stance on feminist ideals (not ideas... ideals .. sort of unicorn assault troops on steroids)... I've even lost faith in Cosgrove after that Newman dork's venture into politics in Queenslund... how could Cosie mentor such a drip? |

To be fair to Vic and to declare an 'interest.' I reckon everyone here is aware that I have an Elder Brother who was in the Army and made very high rank, so I take his judgement on matters military and about those he knows personally and professionally. His words on this bloke are ~ 'Perfect choice....he is a guy of exceptional character who displays first class values. Enjoys the respect of all. No undermining currents and ghosts of the past haunting him.......Occasionally very hard hitting. Great guy, comfortable in all company. (I've left out some more personal bits.)"
