All lamb sold in Australia is legally required to be graded & given the red stamp all across the carcass .....

I was in Woolies yesterday and they are selling unmarked/stamped produce as lamb.

Her's a local butcher speaking about what's going on ...

The supermarkets did the same with fruit, they are meant to display the growers name and variety,,, but they never do any more.

You may think its no big deal, but if there is a food contamination we need to be able to trace where the problem is coming from.
In South Africa they managed to kill about 200 people with contaminated produce,,, we will be heading in the same direction.

Growers pay thousands of dollars doing food safety, only for the supermarkets to trash that work.

on Sunday I had a roast done in a brown paper bag...son in law told me its from Woollies and they do all cuts of meat you bring it home chuck it in the oven for as long as it says on the bag and BINGO....

you cannot see the meat inside until its cooked

I wont be buying woollies meat again...

Sorry for my dreadful sense of humour ... I don't think branding sheep would work very well ... all that wool to cover over the brand? ;)

Mind you, I didn't make a quip about: "I was in Woolies ..."
