There has also been a drop in the residential aggravated burglary rate. A total of 3069 homes were breached while an occupant was present in the year to March, compared with 3494 the previous year. While violent break-ins have decreased, last year was still the second worst in a decade for the crime.

A total of 13,741 cars were stolen in Victoria in the year to March, almost 4600 fewer than over the same period to March 2017. Deputy Commissioner Andrew Crisp said a ‘‘huge team effort’’ from the force and its specialist support workers was targeting known criminals.



Police Minister Lisa Neville praised Victoria Police for the latest stats, saying they were a step in the right direction but there was still a lot of work to be done

But Liberal Leader Matthew Guy said Labor had presided over unprecedented levels of crime, particularly offences against the person.

“Labor has had four years to bring down crime, they’ve presided over some of the greatest increases in crime in Victoria history," Mr Guy said.

Historically changing government does not impact crime rates.

I suspect that the people of Victoria understand that electing the blow-hard was not going to make any difference to crime rates.

It's a case of not in my back yard I suppose. To the voters keeping a fake economy going using mass immigration and debt is obviously more important than the consequences of some bad immigrants.

Mob of African youths go on horrendous crime rampage in Melbourne’s west

In a truly horrific incident, a 59-year-old woman was smacked on the face and forced to sit in the front room of her house

Victorian police searching for three teenagers believed to have been involved in an aggravated home invasion earlier this month have been granted permission by the Children's Court to release their names and pictures.

Detective Acting Inspector Brett Kahan said police had been searching for the three boys since "a particularly concerning" break-in at 5:40am on November 17 in Wyndham Vale in Melbourne's west.

The victims of the incident were elderly and faced demands for their car, using "weapons sourced from the house", he said.

He said he could not go into further particulars of the crime, when asked whether a gun was pointed at the chest of one of the victims, as she got out of bed.

"Without being specific to this home invasion I think any crime committed with the use of a firearm is hugely concerning," he said.

Two people have already been charged with aggravated home invasion and theft of a motor vehicle, while Wayward Taskforce detectives have named the remaining three suspects as
Deng Kuol, 17, Bafal Gatluak and Mading Nyolic, both aged 16.

    "They are actively avoiding police apprehension, they were part of the search warrants that we executed within days of the home invasion," he said.

"We believe them to be still together at times and that they are associating with others in and around the Collingwood, Sunshine and Melton areas," he said.

Detective Acting Inspector Kahan asked Collingwood residents to be vigilant.

He said seeking permission from the Children's Court to release the youth's names was an unusual step, not taken lightly by police.

Under Victorian law, it is illegal to identify children involved in criminal matters unless permission is granted by the president of the Children's Court or a magistrate, subject to specific requirements including the risk to community safety.

"This isn't a step that we would always take but I think it demonstrates the commitment of the taskforce to bring these three into custody," he said.

"We would encourage them to bring themselves into custody and surrender themselves … they certainly know that they're wanted and they certainly know that we're looking for them."

Police have asked anyone who sees the teenagers not to approach them but to call triple zero or Crime Stoppers.

Sixteen people were arrested in St Kilda last night, the day after Port Phillip councillors voted to ban booze in the popular precinct for summer.

The foreshore was the backdrop of yet another night of public disorder with the arrests made as part of Operation Sandsafe.

Officers made arrests for attempted robbery, assaulting police and criminal damage.

Arrests were also made for being drunk in public and drug possession.

Police also searched more than 123 people and charged one person for having a knife.

In Chelsea, riot police and the dog squad swarmed the seaside suburb after a large group of unruly youths started brawling.


The incident, involving mainly youths of African appearance,

unfolded at a carpark on Bath St shortly after 6pm on Thursday.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police attended and spoke to a number of youths who had reportedly been fighting among themselves.

“Police moved the youths on without making any arrests and they made their way to the Chelsea foreshore,” she told the Herald Sun.

“Police remained in the area, patrolling the foreshore and the shopping precinct for the next several hours responding to reports of unruly and anti-social behaviour by several groups of youths.”


Members from the Public Order Response Team and Canine Unit helped local police at the scene.

Witness Alex said he believed there were up to 50 youths in the area and he saw some yelling at police.

“There was a huge police presence, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life,” he told the Herald Sun.

The youths were all dispersed by 11pm.

Police issued two infringement notices for summary offences.

A large group of youths have allegedly bashed and robbed beachgoers in a wild brawl on the St Kilda foreshore in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police said they struggled to contain the violent scenes as young people of African appearance fought each other and assaulted bystanders just before 3am.

Disturbing video footage of the brawl has emerged that shows young men and women kicking and punching each other.

Police said the large gang were wanted over a series of robberies and assaults at the beach and surrounding areas, which started about 11pm on Wednesday night.

A 16-year-old boy and his friends were allegedly punched in the face and robbed on the foreshore with youths stealing their phones, watches and the shirts off their backs.

His father Alex Carter said his son had been left traumatised by the alleged assault.

"They left them standing half nude in the street," Mr Carter told Channel 7.

"These guys are so clever the way they do it (the robberies), that it just sort of looks like a couple of teenagers having a bit of fun."

Police were called to The Esplanade about 2.55am after 60 youths trashed a McDonald's restaurant, throwing chairs and smashing a window.

"Unfortunately last night we had a large number of youth attend, of African appearance, who have engaged in anti-social behaviour," Inspector Jason Kelly told reporters on Thursday.

"Their behaviour was just totally unacceptable and I'd call on them to come forward and hand themselves in before we track them down."

JB Hi-Fi workers are being held at the mercy of thieves amid a wave of armed robberies at stores across Melbourne.

Witnesses have described a gang bursting into the Nunawading store on Sunday afternoon, rifling through shelves of electronics.

“Crooks ran in, grabbed every Apple-branded product they could and ran out again,” Neil Mitchell detailed this morning.

Police say they’ve questioned a number of youths, but are yet to lay charges.

3AW Mornings today received tips that seven other JB Hi-Fi stores — Epping, Highpoint, Brighton, Thomastown, Essendon, Knox City and Hoppers Crossing — have also been targeted in recent weeks.

Caller, Tim, said his wife was caught in the Nunawading incident.

“She said it was very much like a movie,” he said.

“They just let them take it because if anyone steps in the way they get hurt.

“(They were) men of African appearance, but she said they were men, not boys.”

Police have charged six teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, in relation to thefts of electronics stores between August 22 and September 1.

The teens were charged over the thefts from stores in Airport West, Sunshine, Brunswick, Hoppers Crossing, Maribyrnong, Brighton, Epping, Thomastown, Pakenham and Nunawading.

Seven other teenagers were also arrested in relation to the burglaries, but were released pending further enquiries.

Police have also recovered a large amount of allegedly stolen goods including mobile phones, tablets and computers.

The investigations remain ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Cops demand new offence to fight wave of violent 'swarming' shop thefts.

With the plague of violent smash-and-grab "swarming" raids on telco and electronics stores coming at a rate of one a day over the past six weeks, police are floating the idea of a new offence in a bid to curb the growing trend.

Police on Friday said since mid-July, there have been more than 60 "swarming" thefts, where large groups of young people have entered telco or electronics stores, ripped products from display units and fled.

Twenty-five people have been charged over the incidents, and police believe many of them may be responsible for more than one of the 60 incidents.

On Friday, North West Metro Commander Tim Hansen said police were planning on lobbying government to try and create a new offence which would better apply to this style of theft.

"Shop stealing isn't new to us, it isn't new to the community. What has grabbed our attention is the increased use of violence, the use of numbers to intimidate what is predominantly junior retail staff who are vulnerable and aren't well positioned to resist or stop this offending and nor would we expect them to," he said.

"Ultimately most times the offending is limited to a charge of theft or shop steal. Generally as a community we relate that to pretty low-level offending. What we are seeing ... is at the other end of the spectrum. This is violent high-end offending.

JB Hi-Fi workers are being held at the mercy of thieves amid a wave of armed robberies at stores across Melbourne.

Witnesses have described a gang bursting into the Nunawading store on Sunday afternoon, rifling through shelves of electronics.

“Crooks ran in, grabbed every Apple-branded product they could and ran out again,” Neil Mitchell detailed this morning.

Police say they’ve questioned a number of youths, but are yet to lay charges.

3AW Mornings today received tips that seven other JB Hi-Fi stores — Epping, Highpoint, Brighton, Thomastown, Essendon, Knox City and Hoppers Crossing — have also been targeted in recent weeks.

Caller, Tim, said his wife was caught in the Nunawading incident.

“She said it was very much like a movie,” he said.

“They just let them take it because if anyone steps in the way they get hurt.

“(They were) men of African appearance, but she said they were men, not boys.”

Police have charged six teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, in relation to thefts of electronics stores between August 22 and September 1.

The teens were charged over the thefts from stores in Airport West, Sunshine, Brunswick, Hoppers Crossing, Maribyrnong, Brighton, Epping, Thomastown, Pakenham and Nunawading.

Seven other teenagers were also arrested in relation to the burglaries, but were released pending further enquiries.

Police have also recovered a large amount of allegedly stolen goods including mobile phones, tablets and computers.

The investigations remain ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal single vehicle crash which occurred in Woodend this morning.

It’s believed the driver lost control of his vehicle, which left the road and hit a tree on The Avenue of Honour about 6.35am.

The driver and sole occupant, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.

The Avenue of Honour is closed to traffic between Savages Lane and the Calder Freeway until further notice.

Anyone with information, who witnessed the crash or with dash cam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

There was wrestling, hurled beer stubbies and a wooden stake driven through a door when three older men tried to arrest a gang of alleged thieves at a Melbourne bottle shop.

Mayhem erupted at the Doveton store on Friday night when five men of African appearance tried to leave with a bunch of bottles they hadn't paid for.

In dramatic scenes captured by CCTV cameras, the attendant calls to his co-workers who come into the frame before things kick off.

The thieves try to flee and four get away.

But store manager Eddie Sewan, who is sick of his shop being targeted, manages to grab one of them with the help of a friend.

Sewan, 64, is a grandfather but he holds the alleged thief on the ground until the others return in a bid to free him.

The store workers then use signage and bottles to fight them off, piffing stubbies at the alleged robbers from the doorway.

As the older men hold the door closed, the gang find a wooden stake and stab it through the glass.

Just about everything that isn't bolted down is used as either a weapon or battering tool during the clash. Shocked locals watched on.


Sawan said it was the third time the store's been robbed and now they've "had enough".

"We're not going to let them get away with it. They're going to come back and fight us and we're going to fight back," he said.

    'We're going to teach them a lesson.'

"I'm not going to show them we're not cowards. We show them we are strong, we're here, we're waiting for them.

"We're going to teach them a lesson."


In the end after a lengthy struggle and thousands of dollars of damage the group get away with six bottles of wine and spirits.

They are still at large.

The shop has previously been robbed at knifepoint and months later a car slammed through the front door and thieves got away with alcohol and cigarettes.

Four people are in custody after a brawl with police — which sent five officers to hospital — outside a popular Sydney nightclub.

Four people are behind bars over a brawl outside a Sydney nightclub that sent five police officers to hospital with injuries ranging from a broken nose and a fractured elbow to a dislocated jaw.

The brawl erupted after a man and woman refused to leave swanky Potts Point nightclub Flamingo Lounge about 11.20pm on Saturday.

Police stepped in to help security guards at the venue, but the pair turned on them and assaulted the officers, police say.

Four other people from their group joined the fight in which punches were thrown and police were flung to the ground, acting Superintendent Paul Callaghan from the Kings Cross Area Command told reporters on Sunday.

The brawl left a male sergeant with a fractured elbow and torn tricep, a male constable with a broken nose and abrasion to the retina of his left eye, another male constable with a dislocated jaw, two male probationary constables with head injuries and a female probationary constable with swelling to her cheek. The riot squad had to be called in to break up the brawl and six people were arrested.

Forty youths have been charged across Melbourne in a citywide police sting amid an 'unheard of' wave of violent robberies and home invasions.

Police arrested teenagers as young as 15 during a series of raids across Melbourne and Geelong on Monday.

Among the list of alleged offences were home invasion, affray, burglary, robbery, theft, vehicle crime, outstanding warrants and failing to appear at court.


Youth crime hotspots included Melbourne suburbs such as Cranbourne, Dandenong, Reservoir, Sunshine and Truganina.

North West Metro Region Commander Tim Hansen told Daily Telegraph many of the teenagers were becoming involved in high impact crime for the social recognition. 

'They are very well networked over social media and very well planned to strike and cause the most harm when they can.'

'They have little fear of authority, little fear of the repercussions of their offending — this is very new in criminal offending.

'These youths are different because they go from having no criminal record to committing high-harm crimes,' commander Hansen said.

Police said crime trends had shifted away from home invasions to carjackings, blaming the movement on the rise of youth gangs in the city. 

Many of the young people arrested are understood to be linked to gangs and were a mix of caucasian, African and Asian. 

Police described them as some of the 'most active and dangerous' youths walking the streets.

The mass arrest was part of the larger Operation Liege, which is a cross-border police effort intent on cracking down on individual offenders.

Investigators from Westgate Highway Patrol are seeking witnesses after a man and his dog were struck by a car in Footscray last night (10 Nov).

The man walking his dog was waiting at a set of traffic lights when they were struck by a car on Ballarat Road, near Gordon Street, about 8.30pm.

The car, a red 2008 Ford Mondeo sedan, has then run into the front of a shop and the four occupants have allegedly run from the scene.

The pedestrian, a 44-year-old man from Footscray, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The dog, a brown Labradoodle, was taken to a veterinary clinic and is in a critical but stable condition.

No one in the shop was injured.

Police arrested a 48-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, both from Footscray, about 10pm.

Second doctor assaulted in a week after Sunshine Hospital shift.

Police described the assailants as being in their late teens to early 20s and African in appearance.

He tripped and fell to the ground, before he was kicked to the face three times by the attackers. They got away with his phone, wallet and bag, and he was treated at Sunshine Hospital for soft tissue injuries and a broken tooth.

The assault came less than a week after a junior doctor was attacked by four young men matching the same description. That doctor had just finished his shift in the paediatric emergency department about 11pm last Tuesday when he was marched at knifepoint to his car. The four assailants drove off in his white Subaru Impreza sedan.

On channel 7 news they said the doctors are worried
that the attackers have their house keys and addresses from their licenses.

A brawl involving up to 80 youths has wrecked an Airbnb property at Box Hill in Melbourne's east.
9News has obtained exclusive CCTV footage of partygoers holding blocks of wood as they sprinted from the property.

Dozens of alarmed residents woke to the sounds of fighting and partygoers screaming abuse at police, who were trying to disperse the crowd.

How many of the 80 have been arrested?

Rival gangs locked in a heated battle caused chaos at one of Melbourne's busiest train stations in the middle of the day.

The young men brawled dangerously close to the edge of the platform as they threw wild punches and kicks at each other at Southern Cross station.

A video of the melee was shared on Instagram as crowds of shocked commuters were forced to look on as around 20 young men threw themselves into the fight.

Aggravated robberies hit 10-year high as teens target shopping centres

Aggravated robberies in Victoria have hit a 10-year high thanks to a spike in teenagers mugging people in the streets and stealing from shopping centres.

Police are concerned about a "core group" aged between 10 and 17 who are stealing items such as phones, shoes and backpacks from other young people.


The most aggravated robberies were reported in Melbourne (132 robberies), Dandenong (76), St Albans (68), Clayton (64) and Sunshine (48).

In Clayton there were more aggravated robberies in the 12 months to September 2019 than in the previous three years combined.

Crime statistics released on Thursday reveal the overall crime rate for Victoria was 6032 incidents per 100,000 people in the 12 months to September 2019, which represents a 1.7 per cent increase compared with the previous period.

This puts the crime rate in Victoria last year at its third-highest level of the past decade, driven largely by an increase in thefts from shops, cars and other types of theft.


This quarterly release of data from the Crime Statistics Agency does not include details of the nationality of offenders or the age breakdown of repeat offenders.

In total there were 397,849 criminal incidents recorded state wide over the past 12 months, with property crimes such as theft and fraud making up about 60 per cent of reports.

There were 41 aggravated robberies per 100,000 people in the 12 months to September 2019, up from 33 per 100,000 the previous period.

The rate of aggravated robberies at the start of the decade was about 39 incidents per 100,000 people, but in the years that followed the rate plummeted to a low of 28 per 100,000 in 2015. However, since 2015 the rate of such robberies has been increasing.

In real terms, there were 2682 aggravated robberies in the past 12 months (that’s about seven per day on average), up from 2158 the previous period.

Deputy Commissioner Shane Patton said one of the most concerning trends was the increase in thefts and robberies from young offenders – both male and female – who are targeting other young people.

But of course, non of these would deter China from seizing Australia.  And if blacks/muslims stuck their heads over the parapets, China would eliminate them Zionists and the US went to a lot of trouble to decimate the middle east, in the process displacing millions of muslims which were then dispersed within primarily norther European nations (and the US has absorbed a ton) it would be absurd to imagine that zion/US hoped to render Australia unpalatable to China re: blacks/muslims because China doesn't mess around and as said would simply eliminate/enslave anything that stood in its way so it would seem there are either at least two conflicting agendas at play, or something extremely Machiavellian going on one thing's for sure, China will own the 21st century.  US in decline.  Europe toothless.  Globalists/NWO in the thick of it.  Australia sitting out helplessly like a sore thumb, enjoying the sun while it can.  Muslims and blacks merely blunt tools --- but for what purpose?
