NSW Liberal's call for a snap federal poll to save state seats


State Liberal MPs in Victoria and NSW are consumed with rage directed squarely at the federal Liberals for damaging the party's brand ahead of two crucial state elections.


They argue the dysfunction coming from Canberra has done untold harm to the party among voters who put them all in the same dysfunctional basket.
While there is always a debate about whether voters differentiate between state and federal politics, there is always a blurring of issues, and the Wentworth loss has sent shockwaves through not only the Federal Parliament but also the NSW and Victorian Liberals.

The sentiment in a tweet by NSW MLC Peter Phelps urging Scott Morrison to call an early election and get "smashed" at the polls in order to head off bigger losses at the state level may be shared by other MPs in NSW, but Victorians have dismissed it as too late and "Sydney-centric".
Peter Phelps said the Prime Minister should sacrifice the Federal Government to give state Liberals a fighting chance at the two polls.

"The best thing the Fed Libs could do now is deliberately engineer a vote of no confidence in the Reps; go to an early election; get smashed; and stop driving down the vote in NSW and Vic in the lead up to our state elections," Peter Phelps wrote on Twitter.

It's called shame: the money makers can no longer look their kids in the eye... especially once their drugged up ways made them seek late age apprenticeships that required heavy safety interventions won by unions!

If they were, they're leaving it too late.

House prices have been sliding for more than a year and this slowdown is starting to feed into the broader economy. If the government lingers on until May, the economic malaise will be too hard to hide by then.
