They had him (ironically) on their blacklist as an anti-Islamicextremist... The exact opposite of what he was jailed for in Egypt for 5 years.

Although he is now reformed (no longer an Islamist) he was deeply offended by SPLC's depiction of him as anti-Islamic and successfully demonstrated that SPLC maliciously defamed him.
 

Justice Department announces indictment against Southern Poverty Law Center ("SPLC"). Our indictment alleges SPLC secretly funneled MORE THAN $3 MILLION in funds to members of white supremacist and extremist groups.

“The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement. “Using donor money to allegedly profit off Klansmen cannot go unchecked.”


According to the indictment starting in the 1980s, the SPLC began operating a covert network of individuals who were either associated with violent and extremist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, or who had infiltrated violent extremist groups at the SPLC’s direction. Unbeknownst to donors, some of their donated money was being used to fund the leaders and organizers of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website.

The SPLC also allegedly “funneled more than $3 million donated funds to individuals who were associated” with groups such as the National Socialist Movement, United Klans of America, and the Aryan Nations affiliated Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club, between 2014 and 2023, according to the press release.

U.S. — Democrats were deeply saddened to learn today that America isn't actually as racist as they thought it was.

With news breaking this morning that many apparent racists were actually just undercover instigators paid millions of dollars by the Southern Poverty Law Center to pretend to be racist, Democrats were left crushed.

"There are way fewer racists in America than we thought. It's simply awful," said Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. "I am personally devastated to learn that no one really cares about the color of other peoples' skin. Learning that these instigators were doing this for cash, and not because they really hate black people - it's a bitter pill to swallow."

Several of the people who were paid to act racist issued apologies to the Democratic Party. "I'm very sorry that I don't actually hate people with dark skin," said one man in an anonymous statement. "I apologize for letting the Democratic Party down by not harboring real prejudice in my heart. The SPLC paid me a fortune to act like I wanted to join the Klan, and I really needed the money. I promise to do better."

At publishing time, the Democratic Party had asked if perhaps they could take over paying those people to keep acting racist.
