Title: Preferred PM gap widens
Post by Gordon on Apr 7th, 2018 at 8:10am
Jiggle tits will be dumped by the end of the year.

Mr Turnbull has widened the gap against Mr Shorten as preferred prime minister, leading by 52 per cent to 31 per cent, compared to a lead of 48 per cent to 31 per cent in the Fairfax/Ipsos survey published on December 4.

AND

The first Fairfax/Ipsos poll for 2018 shows the Coalition has narrowed the gap against Labor after a furious debate on energy policy, with the government now trailing by 48 per cent to 52 per cent in two-party terms.

AND MORE BAD NEWS

The Fairfax/Ipsos survey shows the two major parties are now neck-and-neck when voters are asked how they would allocate their preferences, producing a 50:50 result that is the strongest performance by the Coalition since the last federal election.

Geez, you're quite the comedian! ;D

You've ignored 29 consecutive Newspolls with the Coalition behind, yet choose to select a single opinion poll to make bold predictions. Cherrypicking much?

Incumbent Prime Ministers always have an advantage as preferred PM.
Even when their party is about to get voted out.

I'd rather have the option that neither would win.

I've voted Labor more times than Liberal, actually.

We vote in a preferential system so unless that's going to be changed by election time, what does the poll say after preferences.

Plus, the topic is about preferred PM.

Newspoll 16/11/14 Shorten 43 Abbott 38
Newspoll 30/11/14 Shorten 43 Abbott 36
Newspoll 14/12/14 Shorten 44 Abbott 37
Newspoll 09/02/15 Shorten 48 Abbott 30
.. and for the majority of the Newspolls in 2015 (Abbott won four PPM Newspolls with two ties) until Turnbull knifed Abbott:
Newspoll 07/092/15 Shorten 41 Abbott 37

Preferred PM isn't that meaningful anyway. Rudd had a solid lead as preferred PM over Abbott after he replaced Gillard in 2013. His best figures being 53-31 on 7/7/13. Labor lost the election.

It must be really hard on Liberal party fanbois knowing that the current Federal government is on track for a smashing at the next election. That explains why you're so desperate to cherrypick anything.

I don't care. You've still not explained why you're cherrypicking one isolated possibly-rogue poll while ignoring dozens since the 2016 election that show the Coalition is in trouble. The last time the Coalition won a Newspoll was on the day of the last election. Since then, there have been two tied Newspolls followed by 29 Newspoll losses in a row. Why are you ignoring all of these?

My post is about the preferred leadership and I've always wondered why Bill is so desperately unpopular.  Care to give your opinion?

Look up previous comments, I've aways said I'd vote Labor if they put Albo in the big chair.

Secondly, the poll is TODAY'S news.
Feel free to start a thread yourself about old chip wrappers.

You still have not addressed the cherrypicking. That's a tacit admission that you are in fact cherrypicking.

Nobody else cares about one poll with dubious methodology that's only released about four times a year.

In two days the next Newspoll is due to be released. If that poll has the Coalition behind, it's much more significant because it would be the 30th Newspoll loss in a row: the same number of consecutive Newspolls that Abbott lost before Turnbull knifed him. When that happens, nobody's going to be talking about your cherrypicked Ipsos.
