Seems logical and consistent to me.

4 bananas + 3 (o'clock) + 3 (o'clock) = 10

One hexagon + one pentagon + one square = 15 sides

15 + 15 + 15 = 45

2 (o'clock) + 3 bananas + (3 bananas x 11 [one hexagon and one pentagon] ) = 38

Okay.  I can see 38.  I still reckon the answer to the question at the end is.....NO.

Actually, the "hexagons", bananas and clocks are all different in the last line (the bananas have 3 in the bunch instead of 4).

That makes it rather confusing (didn't notice that at first - even the hands on the clock. lol).

Yep-  obtain the mathematical values of each symbol via the first three lines.  Note the visual and mathematical connection with each symbol.

Adjust each of the symbol values in line 4 in accordance with the visual change in each symbol and calculate the answer using the BODMAS rule.

put 6 diamonds in each tray.
get rid of the heavier trays diamonds

6 left
then put 3 diamonds in one tray and 3 in the other.
get rid of the heavier trays diamonds.

Then put the  2 of the last 3 on each scale pan.
If they weight the same it's the one on the table
The one on the lighter scale should be the one.


That's my go.

Yeah - went over my head.

I think it has something to do with naming the diamonds.

You call them 1,2,3,4 etc., or A,B,C,D, etc.

Or, you can name them using the letters from "THE KP FORMULA".

I forget what comes next though    :)

easy. weigh 6 against 6, whichever side differs you know thats the side with the different weight. That leaves you with 6, weigh 3 against 3=ditto. left with 3. Then weigh 1 against 1. Either the 2 on the scales differ and then you know which one is different or if the remaining 2 are the same then it must be the one left over and not weighed.
