Gang of youths flee after bashing disability pensioner

Four African men are on the run after a bashing a man on a disability pension inside his Melbourne home.
The youths stormed the Collingwood public housing unit through an open back door about 3am on Saturday.
Using a timber plank, one of the offenders repeatedly struck resident Adam, whose last name has not been disclosed, on the head.
Meanwhile, the other thugs raided the 41-year-old victim’s property, stealing an iPad from his bedroom.
“These guys were motivated…these guys were crazy,” he said.
“I kept on yelling ‘help, home invasion’.”
Adam suffered fractured ribs, cuts and bruises during the five-minute assault, which was captured on security camera.
“They just kept saying, ‘where’s your camera system, where’s your camera system’.”
The robbers fled the property the same way they entered, and remain on the run.
Adam’s mother, Adela, said the gang targeted her son because he was a vulnerable disability pensioner.
“It was really quite upsetting to see him (Adam) in that state, he was terribly, terribly upset.”
The victim said he only moved into the unit three months ago, but now feels unsafe to stay.
“I don't want to live here, I want to leave, I don't want to be here anymore.”
Police are now reviewing the security vision of the incident, with investigations ongoing.
